New feature: Parentank Activity

We just added a new feature that let's you track your Parentank Friends' activity from your "my profile" page.

Note that for privacy reasons you will only be able to see activity from someone you have Parentanked who has also Parentanked you.

For now, activity includes your friends' latest:

• topics posted


• announcements


• new media items

If there are other kinds of activity you'd like to see listed, post suggestions here.

Kind of off topic but, I would love to have a spelling and grammer check for when we write posts   I don't know if you can or how you would go about it, but it would be great!

I noticed there is about a 3 minute delay haha. I was trying to figure out why this post wasn't showing on the recent activity, but then it did.

But so far so good!

(and i LOVE the spellcheck idea)

Activity is currently refreshed every 5 minutes. I was thinking of reducing this to every minute but thought I'd see how it goes -- Mellie, how on earth did you figure there was a delay so quickly!!???

Also, when you click the "all" button to see all your Parentank's activity, only the last 50 events are shown. Depending on how many friends you have, activity might span just a day or up to as much as a week ago. If any of you feel the need to track back further than 50 events, let me know -- I could always include some pagination.

Because i was already playing with it and then posted on here and went wait a sec, it's not in my new posts haha. Then i looked to see when you posted it and figured out the delay. I'm a weirdo.

Nick, will we get notified like we do with replies to topics?

It's an option -- I figured notifications for friends' activity might get tiresome if you have a lot of friends being active on here. It's directly shown on the "my profile" page so if you're looking for stuff to do checking this list should be quick & easy.

Does anyone else feel like notifications should be enabled for Parentank Activity? Or would you just keep getting notified every 5 minutes?
