wic formula

does anyone know how wic decides what formula your baby gets? My son is on enfimal lipal with iron and i dont want to stitch him this early. Anyone from colorado that gets formula? What kind is it and how much are you getting.

i think it all depends on what formula the doctor puts him on. At least that's the way it works here in NY.

wic gives good start only...i was also giving my daughter enfamil but when i got wic they told me that the only formula they give is good start unless you have a medical reason for taking enfamil

They give similac with iron here in pa but if there is a special kind of formula your lil one needs they just need something from the doctor saying that and why. My lil one is on similac alimentium.... the stuff with iron was making her get blood in her stool... they think she is lactose.... like her mama.... hopefully she grows out of it cause in a month they will be taken her off formula and trying to put her on regular milk

they give us enfamil lipil but thats in NY if you need it changed you need a doctors note

i'm looking at my WIC "Shopping Guide" right now, and it's all Enfamil. (at least here in california...)

the options are:

enfamil lipil with iron
enfamil prosobee lipil
enfamil lactofree lipil
enfamil gentlease lipil
enfamil a.r. lipil

although i'm going to BF so all that doesn't apply to me   haha. hope that helps!!

yea im in PA and they only will give me similac advance.... but i used enfamil lipil with iron in the hospital, and when i switched him, there was no problem... i switched him around 2 weeks...

Since you live here in Colorado, you would get Emfamil. My friend just had her daughter and that is what they give now. It use to be Similac, but starting January 1st they give Enfamil. Hope this helps.

i dont want to switch him because his reflux i dont want other formula to make it worse

in ohio.....i get 32 cans of similac advance the concentrated.

here we get Similac but if your peditrician writes you a prescription for it they will give you whatever the ped recommends. Oh and I get 9 cans of Isomil powder a month.

I use to get WIC and got Enfamil 8 of the smaller cans a month
