re: Preemie Blues

Well....it seems that my preemie blues have been shoved in PPD due to Reglan.

If anyone's LC wants you to take Reglan to help boost your milk supply, PLEASE REFUSE IT! Reglan is an acid reflux med that can help some women's milk supply (not everyone's), and it turns out that another side effect is severe depression.   Not only that, but when used for milk supply a woman is not supposed to take it more than 2 weeks b/c 3+ weeks of usage leads to depression in 50% of those who take it. Of course my LC failed to mentioned this and gave me a 2 MONTH supply.  

We realized my preemie blues had escalated to a dangerous place when I considered adoption and then smothering...and then I thought how it'd be easy to go to sleep and just never wake up. Mornings are the roughest time of day. But Tuesday I'll hopefully get some help from a doc. I really hope I'm given a rx for this so I can stop resenting my baby.

I'm sorry girl. I know that's gotta be tough. Whoever prescribed that to you should be sued for giving you 2 months and not telling you a side affect is severe depression. I hope everything works out and you get some help from someone who knows something. Good luck!
