Yes, believe it or not, even though swelling is water weight, the way to flush that out is by drinking LOTS Of water. You should also try to stay off your feet as much as possible - elevate your feet higher than your legs are when "propped up" (you can use a big pillow to do this). Trust me - I have a kidney disease and always swell and I was swollen for some of my pregnancy and these things always helped our tremendously.

Good luck!

I've tried everything and nothing helps me! I drink about a gallon of water a day and elevate my feet as much as possible and I'm still very swollen. At first it was just my feet now it's my ankles too. I even elevate them when I sleep and by 5 am they're swollen (I get up at 4)! I don't know what to do and my dr. keeps telling me it's normal and there's nothing I can do.

I will go away - just drink lots of water. My face is always swollen in the morning and sometimes at night, which is why I'm actually two pounds or so lighter around noon when my face isn't swollen.

I've heard that's a sign of Preeclampsia - I'd definitely get that checked out with your doctor, as well as have your kidneys checked, as kidney issues are common in pregnancies, even with no prior Nephrodical history.

That's what I thought but my dr. said my BP is normal and I don't have any protein in my urine. I did have a kidney infection about a month ago but it's cleared up now. I don't know what else it could be...

So last night I did a lot of research on swelling. There are tons of foods that you can eat that are natural diuretics like watermelon, turkey, onions celery...ect. Also today my midwife gave me activated charcol tablets to take after every time I eat.

That's good to know because I went to Walgreens yesturday to buy water pills and it said that if you have kidney issues (I have a kidney disease), you shouldn't take this without consulting with a doctor first, which sucks.

Can you buy those charcoal tablets anywhere or do you have to get it from a midwife/doctor?

Were naming him Cody Drake. I realy cant wait until hes here, hopefully next week. Ive had a good pregnancy with little trouble, the swelling and the carpal tunnel that is a result of swelling in my wrists is the worst part. Im just getting impatint to see and hold and show off my baby boy.

How old is your baby? Did you have any problems with your pregnancy?
