Baby shower for 3rd baby?
Baby shower for 3rd baby?
posted 15th Apr
So I was wondering, we are talking about having a baby shower for this baby, if it's a boy, since our first 2 were girls. And if it's a girl, we are going to do like a 'welcome baby' party after the baby is born, but not a shower, because we have tons of girl stuff already. But some people tell me you shouldn't have a baby shower for any but your first, what does everyone think?

I'm having one this weekend for my third. I have 2 girls and this one is a boy.
Even if it was the same sex, I think it would still be appropriate to have a shower....as long as you don't throw it yourself.

I would only have a baby shower for my second if it was the opposite sex of the first.

I think it is totally up to you. We didn't have one for our third because everyone hated me at the time. I think your welecome home baby party thing is s good idea

I would have one... For me, it's not about the gifts that I'll get, but more about getting family and friends together and just having a little party... I know I'll be getting the things that I need from my family even if I don't have a shower...

I think every baby deserves a shower. I am having one and this is my third-but it is my fiance's first. Plus my youngest is 8,so it is not like I have anything.

I only had a baby shower for my first because family said its "not right" to have one for the second or third. Even if its a different sex.

Thank you all, and no I am not throwing it myself, but my step-mom and I have been talking about it for a few weeks now, and I just wasn't sure. But thank you all.

Every baby deserves a shower. I'm having my fourth baby and the shower is next month. It was just never a question in our family, someone always initiated a shower. I have three girls and this one is a boy. Enjoy it!

I'm all for showers whether it's baby #1 or baby #9! One can always use diapers and every baby is worth celebrating
I don't know about going the whole kit and kaboodle of having a full registry and such although there are probably circumstances where even that would be full understandable.

I am having a huge shower/ Bar b que and this is #2. My family and friends can't wait! We are having it where guys and kids can come to. Already have about 50 people saying they are coming. I have a big family and my son is 6 so everyone is sooo excited.

I like that idea, we just bought a house and are looking for something different for the baby shower, and being that I am not due til october, it would be a great time of year to have a BBQ (well, like August would be anyways)

Im sorry but to me its greedy and many people think the same way I do. I think it is fine to do something like meet the baby or something where you dont have a registry is fine but to tell people im registered here is greedy to me. Now if your youngest is over 5 years old then I think it is fine to have one.

I would have one; especially if the sex is different. What I wouldn't do is register. I would view it as mainly the celebration of a life to come...not a party to get gifts...and I wouldnt have who ever throughs it to go all out.
I didnt get a baby shower for my first though, and Ethan well his baby shower wasn't until after he was born thanks to a greedy lil friend of mine who like to screw up my sis's plans.

I am having a baby shower for the Twins, simply for the fact that Benny is still in his crib, so we have to go out and buy 2 cribs, new everything is basically like were starting all over, so i definitely am, and especially since one is a girl, so i have no girl things.
i would totally do it.
