Quoting EpicLemons:" Are you worried abour surgery?"

Yeah. Her doctor won't discuss it. She says that she doesn't talk about it unless she's at a place where SHE is ready to do it. She's had lots of parents just say 'smurf it' and not want to put the work in once they have a discussion about surgery, but that patching is a better fix.

I feel bad for her. With the patches and glasses and balance issues that come with them, she's really awkward. I have a lot of friends putting their kids in pageants right now and theyy keep asking if I'm going to enter her.

Uh, no. People aren't kind to that.

Someday she'll grow into her looks, but right now she's my awkward little smartypants nerd kid and I feel like I need to protect her.

She's got a goofy widow's peak in the front too. She pushes it straight up. A friend of mine is going to teach me to french braid her hair this week to tame her mousy hair. Just like mommy's

Lucky girl she is! I had a cross eye when I was a toddler too. Had 5 surgeries on it. Two when I was 4, one with I was 14, one when I was 16 and one when I was 19. It doesn't cross anymore but it's permanently lazy now and I have hardly any vision left in it. But most people can't even tell! Good luck to your girl, may her little eye heal and not have to deal with what I did!

omg shes so stinkin cute!!! That is awesome that she wont need patches or surgery! From one that had to wear patches it was hell... i hated it with a complete passion. But my eyes are better the only time you can tell is when im extremely tired and my eye muscles get lazy lol

what i noticed with my toddler is that i try eye exercises at night time, when i take the glasses off. I rub the back of the ear of the crossed eye very gently. Its tickly at first but when that phase is over i get him to try and hear me rubbing the ear or to "hear the sound the ring makes on that hand" (it doesnt really make a sound, of course). When he tries to listen, i can see the crooked eye straightening in that direction...I'm working on it.
He does wear glasses and i do the patching too, but i see more results playing eye exercise/games when he doesn't have the glasses on. Keep you posted on the progress.
