Miss Chelsie Fae Ortiz.
Born April 8th, at 6:27pm, via C-Section.
7 pounds 9 ounces, 19inches long.
And now for the labor story.
We wnt ino the hospital at 7:30pm April 7th to start the induction proccess. I had been making no progress on my own these past few weeks, so my doctor thought it would be best to try inducing.
They gave my cervadil at 8pm, and had me walk for an hour. At 11, another cervidil, and anohter hours or walking. Then 2am,, the last cervidil, and more walking. I was having contractions every 5 minutes, but they weren't getting stronger. I had progressed to 2 cm, and we started pitocin at 4am. I asked for some pain medication to take the edge off, which actually let me sleep until about 6:30am. I woke up to my doctor arriving for his morning rounds, and he broke my water, upped my pitocin, and offered me the epi.
I knew I wanted the epi eventually, so I went ahead with it. Let me tell ya, it's wa sthe most uncomfortable thing I had felt up until this point. I sat on the edge of the bed, leaking water everywhere, trying to curl up into a ball while having contractions that were every two minutes apart. The doctor had a hard time putting it in, as I have thick bones.
But, once it was in and working, it was allllll worth it. I felt so much better. I was at 3cm at this point, and they upped my pitocin again.
I took a 3 hour nap, waking up at about 10am, and I was stretchable to a 4, but not quite there yet. They had me try different poisitions, about an hour or each side, and then on my back for another hour, which helped me progress to a 4. Once it was 3pm, I was a 5, and feeling pretty crappy. But, time seemed to fly by as I had people comming into to visit me to see how things were going, and before I knew it, my doctor was back for his nightly rounds, and it was 6pm.
Unforutunately, my labor had stalled. 3 hours later, and I was still a 5. So my doctor said it would be best to do a c-section. At that time, I just wanted my baby, heh. We got all preped and headed to the OR. 6:27pm, out popped little Chelsie Fae.Perfect in every wy. My labor stalled because she was sunny-side-up, and my pevlis has thick bones. She wouldn't have made it down there regaurdless of how long we waited.
Two days later we were both discharged from the hospital. I'm still in a bit of pain, but my little girl makes it all worth it.
