Slight Vent

So, my SO's brother lives with us(long story in itself). His two kids come up for visits every weekend, and EVERY weekend something of one(or more) of my 3 kids' gets broken, or damaged in some way. First, my youngest got one of those aquarium lamps that looks like the fish are swimming for Christmas, and while she was at her dad's, it got broken...she hadn't even had it a week. Last weekend, her Disney Princess light board(lets you trace the different Princesses and mix and match their dresses and such) was colored on AFTER I said that it wasn't to be colored on. Today, my son's toy double barrel shot gun was broken.

Would it be wrong of me to suggest that these two bring some toys of their own when they come up?

IMO, I don't think it would be out of line for you to ask him to bring their own toys. geez that that rate your kids won't have any toys left to play with.
That is awful that he hasn't even offered to replace any of the toys that were broken.

yeah that would make me upset too. They can bring toys to your house and leave them there.

No way not out of order at all ! After all its your money that's bought those toys and if they don't have any respect for your children's toys then have them bring theit own toys that way if they get brake their town its not your money down the drain  

Not only that but I would ask their father to replace the broken toys.

Their dad isn't working(or even LOOKING for a job). He brought his dog here, brings it inside, where it sheds, but won't even vacuum the rug the dog's fur gets all over. That dog sheds more than my cat. I just feel like I'm walking on eggshells because my SO works on a boat 5 weeks and is off 5 weeks. I am a SAHM, and carrying the load of 3 adults(when my SO is home), 3 kids(5 when the BIL's kids are here). Add some pregnancy hormones, and I'm one irritated momma right now.

I know this sounds mean but personally I would just kick him out and let him fend for himself. If he isnt contributing to the household in a positive way and is just being a lazy bum then he should go to a shelter or something.

Kick him out. He's destroying your house and belongings, being disrespectful, and not contributing to the household at all. Why put up with the bullsmurf?
