3 4D ultrasound

I'd like to hear personal experiences with 3/4D ultrasounds. At what week did you get yours, were you happy with the results? I'm 21 weeks and very anxious to get one, however every one is telling me to wait another 10 weeks.
What do you suggest?

I had an awesome experience at my 3d ultrasound. It is so neat to actually see your baby. I would wait a little though. I got mine done at 19 weeks and they were wrong on the sex. My friend had one at 32 weeks and got amazing pics of her sons face.

I was going to get one, but than decided to not and be suprised with what our son looked like. I am very very happy with my decision.

I had mine done @ 29 weeks. It was amazing. We got to see that our son has Daddy's cheeks and Mommy's lips  
It was so cute to watch his little facial expressions.

i posted a topic with mine on it from when i was i thinnk 30 or 32 weeks go to my profile and on the left there is forums ive posted click on them and go to the 2ed page and it says 3d 4d !!!!! fianlly you can take a look if you want..

The more developed they are the better pictures you will get. We had ours at 27 weeks. It is your money, though,do what you want.
I am contemplating getting another one....I just love seeing him~

Wait until you are at least 29 weeks that way you can see there true features. If you get one now, you are gonna be freaked out because they are so little and still look like alien babies. I waited til I was 29 weeks and I could not be happier!

i went and got mine the day before i was 28 weeks and i was happy!! i wouldnt get it at 19 weeks you wont see as well as if you waited more. all my friends went at 30 weeks but i think thiers looked good too the place were i went said you get the best pics from 28-32 weeks so i would wait till then! you can look at mine i think they look really good! but that could just be me idk lol

i had mine at 24 weeks and it was wonderful and i got great pictures... the lady did say that after about 32 weeks u can get even betterones... but it is up to u... im so glad we had ours done and it was weel worth the money

I would NOT get a 3 or 4 D ultrasound!!! studies are being brought up about it and they are thinking it can harm ur baby in some way.. and my mom also believes regular ultrasounds can cause autism to a baby! with my next baby i am not getting an ultrasound until im 5 months and thats the only one ill get!!!

I had a 4-d done at 28 weeks. I had to go back and get it done again the next week because the baby was facing the wrong way. But they told me that you should get it done before 30 weeks. Because after that, there isn't much room for the baby to move and it wouldn't be as clear.

I had\ a 3-D/ 4-D done at 19 weeks and also at 30 weeks.. it was truely amazing! If your looking to get the good pictures of the face and stuff i would def. recommend waiting until around 30 weeks.... the one i got done at 19 weeks she was still really really tiny

I just had mine done at 28 weeks and it was amazing! I had one done at 23 weeks as well but the baby looks so different right now, I would really wait till at least 27-28 weeks. He just looks like a real baby now, with some fat on! At 23 weeks he still looked very tiny and his features didn't look as good as they look now. So anyways, that's just my opinion! Good luck with your baby!

thats bull about it hurting the baby! why when a baby has something wrong do dr request a 3d??? ask about it honey the dr and online has plenty of info about it where i got mine done they are used jackson memorial i dont know if you have herd of it but its a big hospital down here and they use them on people daily and there has never been a complant! thats all crap just like that if you go to a tanning bed you have a high risk of getting skin cancer. if you are in the sun for 30min or more without sunscreen you have anout a 5% less chance then a bed so does that ean you dont walk outside without sunlotion umm no if it was going to harm the baby why do all dr do ultrasounds and if the 3d harmed the baby why do so many people have perfetly healthy babys after they get them done i have never herd of a kid getting autism becuz of an ultrasound thats garbage!!

i agree.. that's a bunch of crap! Doctors wouldn't do them if there was a chance it would hurt the baby.. it would probably be something optional if there was any risks... that way the doctors would't be blamed for any problems with peoples babies!!!
