Target Baby Registry

posted 11th Apr '08
I would advise you to not register at Target. They have the worst return policy. You have to have the receipt or they won't accept it. They can do a return using your ID twice in a 12 month period, but only up to $20 dollars each. It is awful. I am stuck with so much stuff I don't need because of it. Just so everyone knows.

What, they should be able to return your items using your registry and give you a target voucher. I used to work in returns a few years ago and thats how we did it.

I was looking at cribs online and found a HUGE page (several actually) of people bashing Target and their return policy. One women said that she asked friends to return two items each in order to get around the policy and get her money back. Another said that she traded multiple items (like baby bathtubs) to other pregnant ladies in exchange for their multiples or cash. Hope you can find a way out of Target terror.

I did have a hard time returning things people purchased off my registry online. It was weird because they said Target..and Target.com were two different things. So I had to call and get in touch with someone from Target..to get the order number..then I was able to return it. But if they bought off your registry..you can get a reciept by logging onto your Target account.

I love Target but thier return policy does suck. I feel they should have told me this when I registered and I would not have registered there. I dont encourage anyone to register there at all.

Okay, I work return at target, and honestly, its not that bad, the policy is written on the back of the reciet. They will return anything you bought as long as its within 90 days and you have a non expired reciept. They can also look up purchases from a credit card, debit card, or a check. If someone buys something off your registry, I always tell them to give the gift recipt, as it makes it easier to return. The majority of people dont, because they figure it is a gift, so the people should be grateful. It may be cumbersome at times, but I think it is quite generous. It is there because of people who abuse the policy and steal from the store.

I've been trying to round up people to return stuff for me, but it's hard. It doesn't seem like their return policy used to be like this. It's frustrating. I have 6 of the same bodysuit! It just seems like if you're registered there, they should be able to return it...

I haven't had my shower yet...do you think it would be rude to write along with, "registered at....please include gift receipt"? LOL! I just think that in this day and age of registry buying and the fact that some of them don't even take the stuff off once it's bought that the gift-giver should give the mom-to-be a break and include the receipt! I know Auntie Whoever thinks that she found you the 'perfect gift', but what if it's for the wrong gender like in sammm1115's (suspected) case?

I bought my crib from target online and it came horribly damaged.. I had to fight and fight to get my money back.. Needless to say when the issue was finally resolved i bought my crib from babies r us.. And i registered at target and was very disapointed when i tried to return a set of baby monitors which i knew for a fact came from there and was treated terribly at their service desk

well, It might be rude, but like I said, most people figure, that if they buy something for you, you wont be returning it. ah I know it can be a pain, you know, returning stuff, but , I mean, there has to be a line drawn somewhere, I guess thats all I am saying. I understand all of your ladies fustrations, it just hard, sometiems, when people come in and complain about things that you have no control over. People can get down right nasty sometimes

i raised hell and asked to speak to the manager when i had to return things... if the manager wouldnt do anything i told them to get thier district manager on the phone.... i got store credit for the items that i needed to return.... also i had my registry showing the items that were on there.. Target is a huge pain for retunring stuff. I will never register there again... they didnt exactly treat us very nicely when i did go into register... that should have been my first sign not to...
