Avery Louis - 31 weeks (labor story & pics)

I went into labor around 6 pm on 1/25 at work. I thought it was another false alarm so I continued to work for 2 hours with contractions coming about every 10 minutes. They became unbearable so I decided to leave and try and lay down at home and see if they would go away, by 9 pm they were every 4 minutes so i headed in to the hospital. When I got there I was 4 cm and my water bag was close to breaking. The doctors decided to start magnesium to try and stop the contractions. They came in and checked me an hour later I was 8 cms & dying for some pain medicine. They called down the anesthesiologist to start my epi, but it was time to push before he got there. My son was born at 1127pm weighing 3lbs 6 ounce and 16 inches long.

He is currently in NICU and will have to be there for at least a month.. He is breathing on his own & eating through a feeding tube with no problem. Anyone else have a 31 weeker and want to share your story? Thanks for reading !

congrats on your LO! I had a 31 weeker also  
I was 3cm at my last DR appointment. I was admitted to the hospital 4 days before Bruce was born. On the 4th day my DR came into my room and checked me.... I was 5cm so she sent me to L&D. They gave me the mag but that didn't stop my contractions. My SO had to drive from down state during a hurricane evacuation (Irene). When he got to the hospital my Doc broke my water and gave me pitocin. I didn't start feeling the contractions until I was 8cm! they were so painful but I pushed LO out in 4 pushes   He was 4.7lbs and 17.5 inches
He was healthy but he had some trouble breathing on his own so they kept the cpap on him for about a week before he was discharged. He was in the nicu for about 5 weeks.

Hey mamma I had my lil man on the 19th at 30 weeks 5 days he was 3 lbs 14 ounces and 16 3/4 inches long... Hes on the nasal canula for the pressre and hes doing good... Congrats on becommin a mamma
