Chordid Plexus cyst (CPC) in babys brain fluid.

Can anyone give me some info on this issue?? Or someone who has had this with their child?

A family member of mine just found out she is having a girl and also found that the baby has CPC, her doc assured her that the rest of the baby is fine. She is upset, crying and worrying about this....What effects does it have on the baby? I know it can go away in or near the 3rd tri. She is having another u/s at 28 weeks to check...her doc is not worried.

Just trying to see from someone who has been through this on what happens with the baby and such from here and help comfort her.

My son had them. It turned out to be nothing. The way my dr put it was that our ultrasound machines were so high tech that they picked up any little thing, and that they can even be apart of normal development. At her next u/s they will look for other deformities(sp) or things that can point to a "defect" in the baby.

Thank you! She told me that is was a 2mm CPC. But that everything else looked good. Im hoping it is nothing as I am sure it is, with my son the picked up a brighter spot in his heart (echogenic heart) and it was nothing.

Yeah...technology is getting to be so good that they pick up literally any little thing. I freaked out too at first. I thought he was going to come out special needs. It was terrifying, but turned out to be nothing! <3

Good! Im glad to hear that it was nothing, praying for the same with her!

My 2nd daughter had it and was not detected on U/S. She ended up having brain surgery when she was about 14 months old. We found out my little man also has CPC by U/S last week and are worried he may have to go thru the same thing.

My daughter had a few, but they went away on their own before I delivered.
