Finally back from L&D.. kinda long.

For starters I am 39.2 weeks pregnant due in 5 days   I had the longest day sitting in L&D today!! Me and SO were having sex around 11:00 a.m today, and in the middle of it I felt like I had peed everywhere, so I had him stop. When he pulled out he was covered in blood, same with the bed sheets. I run to the bathroom freaking out trying to get it all cleaned up. (I also saw that I lost my mucus plug) I called my advice nurse who later tells me to go into L&D. I was filling up pad after pad all day! The doctors said baby is doing fine and I was contracting ever 4-6 minutes (I couldn't even tell I was having contractions) and only dilated to a 3. She said the blood could mean labor is near, and also said it is possible that it was from having sex without a condom o.0, who wears condoms while pregnant? lol. The bleeding finally laid off.. still a little bit though so they sent me home. Now here I am ready to go to bed already lol! Has anyone had this happen to them?! With all the blood and what not. Freaked me out!

lol at who wears condoms when pregnant (or however you said it!) - but seriously, I would more likely bleed with a condom then without one! I have never heard of such a thing, bleeding because one didn't use a condom?! like you said: O.o

Yeah I found it bizarre. I was feeling completely fine except the large amounts of blood I lost today, it literally freaked me out. It looked like the worst period ever. I just hope my contractions pick up so he can come already.

What a kooky nurse. Some docs give the thumbs up for DTD, as sperm can soften and efface your cervix. I think that bleeding so late in your pgcy is definitely a labor sign, and they should have monitored you more closely.

I agree, they did have me in there for about 5 hours, but they sent me home because I wasn't dilating, and contractions weren't getting any stronger. They said if they did admit me I could be like this for an hour, or a few days. I'm just glad the bleeding is almost gone. I've never seen so much blood in my life.

hat did they say your effacement was? Cuz dilation doesnt matter as much as effacement.

Well youre right on the edge. I would say sex, but mebbe not a good idea. Try brisk walking. Thats what i did today, and lemme tell you i bout died. The harder you walk the better. Just wear a pad, to be safe.

Yeah I'm going to go on a walk today, so hopefully something will happen lol. No the doctor said "no sex, but outside sex is fine." LOL.

Wow..ive never had that happen but did have to stop in the middle of sex the other day cause it hurt too badly. Im thinking since were so close everything is ultra sensitive, blood vessels and such. Good luck! Hope baby comes out tomorrow for you. Mine feels like a bowling ball on my cervix! Im so ready to be done!!!!!!

They did mention all of that, and said everything is very sensitive, and it probably messed with my blood vessels. At first I thought it was my "bloody show" but from what I have read on here peoples "bloody show" was only alittle bit of blood on the tp when they wiped, my blood was like a horrible period lol. Now it's got to the point where there's only a little on the tp. I would love for him to be here tomorrow, but I feel like he still might wait until his due date. 4 more days [:

ll i don't know why it would cause bleeding...but my doctor told me that if me and hubby do have sex that we use a condom because all his "juices" will cause my cervix to shorten and soften (mind you we are having problems with my cervix shortening so that is why we were put on that restriction)--and actually the other doc put us on pelvic rest so it don't really batter
