posted 9th Apr
I had a c section 2 weeks ago...i was in the hospitl for 6 days.... 2 days later it got infected and was draining like crazy!! I was asleep and woke up wih my pants and shirt soaked in blood and pus it was sooo gross. I was put back in the hospital for 3 more days for antiabtics and IV fluids. Then i was sent home with antiabiotics for 5 days which im still on i got out last Friday. My quesion is part of my insicion is still a lil swollen and red not as much as before but still puffy. Is this normal? Im not in as much pain as before eiher just worried it will get infected again and ill have to go back to hospial i hate it there!!! Is it sill suppose to look swollen?

Congratulations first of all on your baby!
I had two c-sections. My first section I healed really quick and was released early. The only trouble I had was keeping it clean because I am a little on the chubby side and the incision was always being kept damp due to my belly.....sorry if that is a little graphic. The technique I used was that I would wash it two or three times a day with just mild soap, baby soap mostly, and then I would lie flat on the bed and let the floor fan blow cool air on the incision. I did this and after just a couple of days the incision was less red and looking much better. My second c-section, I was more prepared because I had done it before and I just repeated what I just wrote here and had no trouble.
But where I still am a little over weight, sometimes my incision still becomes a little red and and I still use the old floor fan technique and then it gets better.
If the incision doesnt get better quickly after trying that, then I would go back to the hospital cause it may not be healing on the inside. I had a friend who had a section who healed on the outside but didnt heal on the inside and had to have a repeat surgery. So just be careful and watch it and dont be afraid to go back to the hospital because you need to be healthy to enjoy your new baby.
Sorry so long, lol!

I had a section done a week ago. Mine is a little swollen from being up and down but not red. I had an appointment yesterday and the doctor put me on an antibiotic just to be safe.

mines still like, a light red/maroon color 3 weeks later and still raised and a little puffy... i'm hoping that part will go away... but healing well... I hope that yours is too now! That would've terrified me...
