If you had a 34 weeker...

How long did your baby stay in the NICU?

Watching* I am 34 weeks currently and have been wondering the same thing.

Mine didnt. I had gotten the steroid shots at 30 weeks and then was taking an oral steroid the week before I had her and she came out in perfect health except for the fact that she couldnt really regulate her body temperature at all (but they told me to just keep her dressed in two of everything and swaddled in two blankets for the first 3-4 months) and she developed bad jaundice... but since she passed her carseat test on time two days later she was able to come home with me. They definitely pushed me to make sure she was nursing enough and that she was getting enough wet diapers before she left... and made sure she had a bowel movement before she left too.

Yeah I do. Hopefully not. Lots of my family and friends have been telling me I'll never make it to my due date and its really discouraging and scary.

Lucky baby!! I had steroid shots at 32 weeks but shes still got issues

I starte getting told that by friends, family, and strangers on the street at 20 weeks with my baby that came early... I would always roll my eyes and tell them "Yeah, thats exactly what someone on bed rest wants to hear when they are TRYING to keep their baby in for as long as possible..." That would always shut them up... Just take it easy and stay off your feet as much as possible.

They are basing the opinion of me having him early on my size. I am short and began my pregnancy at 86 pounds. I have always been told he was healthy and I was healthy, I have also gained 40 pounds. Its just no fun listening to the world tell me I'll go early because of my size. Did your baby come at 34 weeks?

Its terrible to listen to, like they want your child to be premature. Thank you for the advice though

I'm as short and petite as you and didn't go into labor early, or have any problems delivering. I wouldn't listen to that.

My sister is 4ft 11in and was 100lbs wen she delivered. She gave biirth naturally to a 9lb baby boy at 42 weeks. Size doesnt matter  

Ryan was born at 34w 3d and didn't spend anytime in the NICU. They didn't even have a NICU [stupid military hospital]. He went home in the norm 48h, but needed to be on the Billiblanket for a few days because of Jaundice.
