thrush and buttermilk

I'm using organic cultured buttermilk to help with my 2 and 1/2 yr old's thrush. She's never had thrush before. I also got some really nice powdered probiotics...
Insight?
Ellyette loves her "medicine milk" and is now eating buttermlk in cereal. Is that good or bad? Ha

We use Kefir. I've never heard of using buttermilk. Now I am off to google.
