Can anyone who's had CS due to breech babies give me advice on what happens and what to expect? The after effects too please. Thanks

My friend had one, her section was scheduled a week ahead of time. And she was a little sore, but she said it was fine.

I haven't but I imagine the recovery is the same as it is for any section. My friend had a C Section due to her baby being breech and she recovered like a champ! Was up and walking around that day and never had too many issues afterwards about being sore. You wouldn't have even known that she had a section. But I think it varies person to person.

I had one and it went ok. You dont get to hold your baby right away or at least I didnt. My hospital had a camera in the nursery so we could see him. About an hour later when they get you out of recovery and into a room they bring the baby to you. I was pretty sore and hugged a pillow to get out of bed as soon as I could and started walking as soon as I could. 3 days in the hospital.

@Tanner's Mom, Did you have a spinal block? if you did, what was that like? I'm needle phobic and that's one of my main fears.

I did it was scary but the whole thing was scary. I went in for a routine check up and was dilated to a 3 already so the doctor said we need to get this baby out before your water breaks and baby has no fluid. My son was complete breech head right below my boobs and butt down with his feet in his face. So everything went smooth the epi went fine and it just stung a little. If it was planned it would have been easier emotionally.

I had my c section 2 days ago. I didn't see the needle they distracted me with conversation and I only felt a prick than my bottom got warm.and numb. So I guess try to distract yourself, it really helped me.

The whole procedure isn't bad, I didn't even know I was cut open and suddenly she was here!

My first was breached and he flipped the day before my planned c section at 38 weeks so I was able to have him vaginally at 41 weeks. My second was an emergency c section the recovery was pretty painful but I healed up fast I was up and walking that day and I have heard that c section recovery is a lot easier if its a planned c section because you aren't sore from going through labor. My advice to you is get up and move around as soon as the nurses let you and take your pain meds on time.

My baby was breech, I had a scheduled c-section but my water broke early and I was in labor for 2 hours up to 6 cm dilated!.....waiting for the doctor and getting operating room set up....the spinal block hurt, but so did the contractions so it was a big relief! I recovered fine...very sore for the first week...make sure you have help...it's very overwhelming at first...especially when you can't get around very well or drive! Good luck...it's all worth it!

Mine wasn't bad at all. I was terrified but didn't feel anything with the spinal needle and the procedure itself seemed like a flash. I also didn't know they had even started cutting when the first baby came out. My babies went straight to the nicu because they were premature but I went to see them that evening and my hubby went right away and brought me pics. I left the catheter in overnight because I was scared about transferring on and off the toilet on my own all night and wanted to get my rest to recover quickly, but that was my choice. The second day I was transferring to/from a wheelchair to go see my babies. It was really painful! I also had my first shower and walked a short hall pushing the wheelchair for support. After my second night, I was able to walk to the nicu pushing the wheelchair for support and I was discharged that day (probably one day earlier than normal but my babies were being transferred so I opted to go). It def hurts! And you walk funny for a while after because it feels weird to stand up straight... you can always point out who had a c-section by that walk. But after the first few days I felt dramatically better. Best wishes.
