she can go to a convertible whenever uyou feel ready, ro when she outgrows the weight limit on your seat which is usually 30 or 22 lbs.

She can go now, I moved my son early.

Just make sure that you check the weight min.on the convertible one. The reason most people wait so long is b/c they want their babies to be able to sit in a highchair/cart b/f they do away with the carrier.

yeah its very hard to find somewhrre for your baby to sit if you need to put them down and they cant sit up. but your baby is old enough to sit up, so you shouldnt have a problem moving her to a convertible seat.

I just realized how old your little girl is! I would definately move her, i'm suprised she will still set in the carrier seat.

Not too much longer and you can face her forwards, 22 lbs and 1 year old.

lol off topic kind of but I JUST switched Arieanna to her front faced carseat....she was in her carrier until her 1st birthday, but she only weighed 20 lbs! I actually liked having the carrier, but Arie loves her front faced one now...lol!

Awww I bet she loves seeing what mom is doing up there. I can't wait to turn Easton around. My hubby still uses the carrier in his truck, but Easton is teetering on the weigh limit and we really need to get another convertible carseat.

Hubby likes to pretend it is from the baseball bat company.   But actually we have family that live in Easton, PA and I was watching the movie American Psycho and looked into getting the book. And the author to the book is Bret Easton Ellis. I fell in love with Easton!

Be careful, I have NEVER seen a carseat with a weight limit of 30 pounds! Mine was 26 inches and 20 pounds, my best friend's was 26 inches and 22 pounds. Some go up to 25.

I read a new study saying that for convertible seats, don't turn it around immediately when they turn one. It's much much safer to leave them rear facing until the reach the rear facing weight and length limits.

I got an Eddie Bauer convertible car seat that goes up to 100 pounds (most only go up to 65 or 80 :/ ) AND turns into a belt-positioning booster seat for under $200 (including tax). Respond if you're interested and still don't have the seat and I'll tell you the model.

Car seats expire after 6 years, and you should cut the straps and crush the plastic.
There should be a sticker on the carseat saying when it was made and what the height and weight limits are. If not, you can always google it

Remember, they should be in a booster until the're 4'9 (hahah, I should've ridden in one until like 8th grade...), so spending $200 on a carseat that will last you about 6 YEARS is not too bad

Actually GRACO just now came out with an infant carrier that does go to 30 pounds. I was shocked, they have it at ToysR'Us. My Britax carrier is 22 lbs but up to 30 in in length. They are getting bigger and better.

We moved Hailey into a convertible at 6 months cause she was 2lbs from outgrowing the infant seat.. I waited this long cause I wanted her to have a seat of her own until she could sit up in a restuarant high chair and shopping cart.

She is now 1yr old and been in a convertible for 6 months and STILL rear facing in my vehicle. My rear facing seat limit is 35lbs but not sure yet if we will keep her rear facing to the seat limit or turn her around sooner. (hoping to keep her there until 35lbs if possible).
