Quoting Thorian's Mommy:" Thanks, Im planning on getting him a convertible car seat and the Cloth diapers when we get income taxes. ... [snip!] ... get the Cloth now though cuz he is so sensitive to diapers. I have to change him right after he pees or he get a diaper rash. "

I would definitely recommend getting them.E is always a little red around where the diaper meets his skin like legs and waist. So far today, I havent noticed that and the lining of these is insanely soft haha

Logan had his 4 month old appt today. He wasnt too happy about the 2 shots and hated the oral vaccine they gave him. The faces he made at the nurse every time she tried to give him more of the rota vaccine were priceless. He was arching his eyebrows at her and scrunching up his face as soon as he tasted the liquid. Too cute! He is such a flirt. I love his shy smiles and one arched eyebrow look.

He weighs one ounce short of 17 pounds and he is 27 inches long. DH was watching him sleep last night and goes "Holy cow, He looks like a toddler". haha. He is a big boy.

My mother works for a Marriot and we took my 4 yr old niece and Thorian to the pool today. We were the only ones there and they loved it! Thorian loves the water, he just didnt like me puting him on his back to float.

World's Smurffiest Mom award goes to....me

I was clipping E's little raven claws last night and as I started to squeeze, E moved his thumb and wouldn't you know it, I literally cut off half of his thumb nail. He starts crying immediately and blood goes everywhere.
I grabbed a towel and put it over his thumb and kept pressure there for exactly five minutes. Took the towel off and it was still bleeding terrible. I ran it under cold water-nope.
I threw a huge pad of gauze over it and used medical tape to secure it on. Was soaked in maybe 2 minutes. Changed it and swaddled him so he couldn't get his hands out. At this point he is only crying because he is mad I won't give him back his hand and he's dead tired. I put him down .
I checked on him 2-3 times in an hour and when I went to go see how the thumb was, his little jammies and blanky had blood on them. I started crying at this point.I mean I have seen soooo much worse but I think because he's my child, I couldn't handle it.I called the hospital to see if the bleeding was normal.I guess a lot of parents do this because she gets that kind of call a lot.I did what she told me and he is perfectly fine now but the rest of the night I just had that sinking feeling and wanted to keep crying.

Brandon can clip his nails from now on

As far as I have known, there is iron in BM and its actually better absorbed than that in cereal/formula.
The iron that they have saved up in them lasts at least 6 months

I can go grab where I got the info

Iron SourcePercentage of Iron Absorbed
breastmilk~50 – 70%
iron-fortified cow milk formula~3 – 12%
iron-fortified soy formulaless than 1% – 7%
iron-fortified cereals4 – 10%
cow’s milk~10%
Note: The amount of iron absorbed from any food depends greatly upon the milk source of iron (eg, human vs cow), type of iron compound in the food, the body’s need for iron, and the other foods eaten at the same meal.

I cannot understand why doctor's can't take the time to check up on this kind of information before handing it out to parents. Especially when there is a parent who is skeptical. Like it literally takes at the most, 10 minutes

I read the same thing recently. Breastmilk's iron is lower than formula but its more easily absorbed.

Awe. I would have reacted the same way. I'm always nervous to cut his nails. My aunt did it for me because LO is so active and I was afraid that I would cut him. I just clipped two of his long nails yesterday but had to stop because he started putting up a fight. I thought about doing it when he is sleeping but I have so much to get done during the day that I always end up forgeting to do it.
