re: ~Official September 2012 Mamas & Babies!~

We had Ms. Amyah's 2 month checkup last week. She was born @ 6 lbs. 4 oz, was 6 lbs when she was released, 8 lbs @ her 2 week checkup, and a whopping 10 lbs. 4 oz at her 2 month checkup. Baby girl is doing wonderfully! She has a little dry skin and craddle cap, which I wish would just GO AWAY!! She's smiling and cooing SOOOO much lately. I wish I could post pics, but my phone won't let me...if I post a link, could someone post the pic?!

I have to go back to work in 9 days. My 12 weeks off have gone way too fast. I think I am going to be an emotional wreck when I have to leave my baby girl.

I'm leaving him with my fiance tonight for two and a half hours so my daughter and I can go to a Lia Sophia party and my stomach is already knotted

I can imagine. Im leaving him with my mum for the first time on friday to go to the cinema. Will only be away 3 hours and cant imagine ill be concentrating on this film lol.
Im dreading when his BD asks to take him.

Hey Mamas,
My great grandfather died last week and his funeral is Wednesday and its out of town. I'm taking my LO to the funeral ( my SO can't go )and I was wondering if you were in a similar situation what did you do to keep your LO quiet. Gina is a pretty alert baby and won't take her nap ( which is usually from 12-3 ) if something is going on around her. Nosey Baby lol. I know that I will sit closet to the aisle so I can go outside if she starts to fuss.

I would just make sure that u feed Ur LO right before so u know she dmwont get hungry during. I do that when I am going somewhere he will need to be quiet at.

So I have a question??

My son is now 11weeks old and we went to my grandmothers house yesterday. We noticed that he mainly only turned his head to the right. When we got home he tried to see if he still did it at home . He will turn to the left but seems to prefer turning his head to the right. My grandma is freaking out about it....does anyone notice this or had this before? Should I be concerned?

Keep in mind tho that night he had a bad night and slept on my chest most of the night with his head to the right...could it just be he has a stiff neck from sleeping like that.

He might have an ear infection. I would call your pediatrician. Thanks for the advice on my situation

My daughter was almost 7 months when Brandon's father passed away so she was around for the wake and the funeral. She hated being touched by people and it could get loud because there were over 200 people there so it was easier to have his mom take her after a certain point but with the baby being obviously alot younger than 7 months its harder to entertain those alert moments. If she is still awake after feedings and changes you might have to get up and just walk around. Do you have a sling or anything to put her in?

Sophia had a preference too and the pedi was freaking me out saying she might have torticolis even after I told her I had seen Sophia turn her head the other way. Some kids just have that preference .

She doesn't like being in carrier unless we are going for a walk :/

mineral oil helps with cradle cap! Morgan had it SO bad then her pedi told us to use that. Just take a q-tip and dip it in and rub it on her head till it looks pretty greasy. Morgan slept on a towel that night but the next day it was gone! And aquaphor for her dry skin..we havent tested the aquaphor out yet since we were supposed to get a medicated lotion but our insurance wont cover it.
