Pregnancy probs

Anyone else having problems with pitting edema and high blood pressure? What makes it worse is, our doctor, won't return our call when we asked him about it. Wonderful health care huh

Aww that sucks, I'm sorry. I never had any issues but has your doctor given you a diet or pills? I'm not sure how that all goes down but I hope everything works out for ya hun.

I have had the pitting edema and a little protein in my urine, but no high bp. I found that drinking like 3X as much water as I usually do helps keep me from swelling as badly. Also, avoid eating excess sodium. Both are common during pregnancy, and as long as you aren't spilling a lot of protein or experiencing other symptoms I wouldn't worry.

I got both of those.. and it sucks. People think it's funny that I can press shapes into my feet and they stay!
Avoid salt, lots of water and keep off your feet when you can.

My blood pressure has been up. Before I got pregnant is was always really good. Like 120/70 or something really close to that. But the past few weeks its been between 140/80 and 150/85. My feet swell all the time. Its terrible when I wake up in the morning and get out of bed. They are so swollen it hurts to walk on them. And my finger swell really bad. My doctor told me that he was going to watch it and see what happens. I've tried cutting back on salt, drinking more water, and getting plenty of rest but nothing seems to make it go down any. But it's definetly not fun.

Glad to hear others out there are having the same issues. It's horrible. I just wish we had a doctor who gave a crap about it all too. Every appointment he acts like he is in such a hurry, doesn't pay attention to any of our questions or anything. He was supposed to be the most experienced and best, but I am starting to see otherwise :

Just saw the doctor today, turns out it isn't just ordinary swelling and high BP, was told to be on bedrest due to mild to moderate preeclampsia

Well that stinks. I hope everything goes well. Are you going to be on bedrest for the rest of your pregnancy?

We will find out Monday, depending on what this weekends bedrest does. The doctor has given strict orders to not got back to work Monday and to stay on TOTAL bedrest getting out of bed only to use the restroom and to eat Blood pressure was 143/110 this time, with a little protein in the urine as well. Definately got the doctors attention
