Clearblue Ovulation Test vs Cheap strips

So I use those cheaper ovulation strips usually and they normally predict my ovulation pretty well (I've been using them for preventing for a while). Well we decided to start TTC last month so I got the clear blue ovulation test (the one with the smiley face) to eliminate ambiguity. I used a strip this morning and it was negative but getting darker so I used another this afternoon and it looked about the same as this morning but the dye seemed to have run a little funny so I decided to use the clear blue as well and I got a smiley face on it. So my question is has anyone experienced this with seemingly different results on two types of ovulation tests? And I think I trust the clear blue over the strips would you?

This is the one I have so it's not the fertility monitor that also measures estrogen and what not.

I used the cheap internet ones and the clearblue digital last cycle and this cycle. I got a positive digital the day before getting a positive internet one. But this cycle I got a positive internet one this morning but the digital was negative and it was my last digital. I like the digitals but they can mess up too. I had a false positive digital this cycle.
