molluscum contagiosum

Anybody elses kids get this? Did anything work to get rid of it??? What did your doctor say?

It's a contagious skin virus. I had never seen or heard of it until my son got it two years ago, at his old school they didn't practice good hand-washing and I think that's how he got it. It's been two years and most of it is gone but he still has some bumps. the doctor said that it can hide from a persons immune system for years before it's detected. The problem is the kid won't stop scratching it so now my other son has it and my daughter has gotten a few bumps here and there, thankfully Hannah's is gone but the boys aren't so lucky. I've had a few bumps pop up on me and so has hubby and ours are gone now too. I'm just sick of it already and I want it gone! My poor son has scars all over his butt from scratching the nasty stuff and it's impossible to know when he's done it and make him wash after... I feel like it's going to be in our house forever!

I had this as did my friend. It does last a few years but I remember my friend got cream from her dr to use during break outs and hers only last a few months. I did not figure out what it was until the end so it lasted a couple years for me.

They gave my son Aldera but it's so expensive that I couldn't afford to continue it. I guess it's what they use for herpes.

my son has had MC for almost 2 years. His derm couldnt help for the life of me. Giving him all this treatments, even burning them off. Til finally a friend tld me she used Tea Tree oil and tea tree body wash on her DD. So we gave it a try, Its been 3 months and my son has been MC free! he also take those flinstone immune booster vitamins and we try to make him eat as much fruits and veggies as possible.
