31 Weeks and 1 cm dilated on bed rest

Hi All,
I was wondering if there is anyone out there going through the same situation.
I am currently 31 weeks pregnant and found out on 3-18 that I was dilated 1 cm.
I was admitted to L&D that morning, and was in the hospital for 2 days. During that time I was given two steroid shots ( 24 hrs apart) and put on Procardia every 4 hours. I am now home and on bedrest still taking the Procardia. I'm really hoping that my baby girl stays put for a few weeks.
Is there anyone out there going through the same thing, or that went through it and ended up delivering around 31 weeks or so? At this point I'm not sure how quickly I will progress in dilation.....can it take a while to progress from 1 cm on?

Stick w/your instructions...but I was dialted to 4 at 34 weeks and 80% effaced. Well, thats when they found out. I had been having small contractions for a bit already...I got induced at 39 weeks.

Hey. with my first child i went thru this which is why i was high risk with this pregnancy that just ended. I was given two shots to mature baby lungs and the procardia i was tlking for high bp. i stayed n the hospital for five days and this happend when i was 29wks. I never went though it nor am I now but my friend was dilated 2 cm for like 2 months soo it can take awhile to progress ... just stay in bed !!! thats really important

If your not contracting you most likely won't progress. I'm 31 weeks and 3cm and 50% effaced. I've been this way for two weeks now and nothing has changed. I am on a terbutaline pump and strict bed rest.

why did they check you for dilation so early, I thought they check later on or you felt something was wrong?

yeah i dialeted to 2cm in 32nd and was given some medication to stop the labor cus it was to early but everything was fine i am now 37wks and went to my drs appt to find out i was just4cm dialeted... Its being a very slow process for me....
