I'm on 32 units NPH and 16 units Novolog at breakfast, 14 units Novolog at dinner, and 22 units NPH at bedtime. My post dinner levels are under 120 and my post breakfast ones usually are too, but fasting and middle of the night are over 95 still and post lunch is over 120 too. Still can't seem to get my dose figure out right.

Are you drinking coffee with flavoring? Or pop? I know that sounds crazy cause I didn't think pop would affect my numbers that bad, but it's helped a lot since I cut it out. Those doses sound really high.

Nope, none of that stuff. I have a caffeine restriction due to my blood clotting disorder and the very few times I've had any soda (like half a can at most) it was diet (with aspartame) and it had no affect on my sugars. When my numbers went out of control it didn't matter what I ate to set it off. I ate two eggs for breakfast one morning and my levels came back at 271 after having had a fasting of 110 and I had a glass of ice water to go with my eggs. We haven't been able to find a reason for why I'm so hard to manage and keep requiring higher and higher doses although my doctor said that with pregnancy sometimes you hit a point that nothing you do works no matter how "perfect" you are being with diet and meds. I'm already on twice a week NSTs and BPPs to make sure things are okay and the placenta isn't having premature deterioration yet. I think I'm more frustrated than anything because we haven't been able to get this under control yet and even when it looks like we have it turns out to be temporary and is back to crazy in a few days and they have to up my doses again.

They are doing the same thing to me. Although my numbers are as high as yours, they keep uping me. It will seem ok for a couple of days then be all off again. And I agree with the food thing. I had the same thing happen with me with eggs actually!!! I hope they can get things worked out for you. Or that things don't get worse at least. I'm having weekly NST's now myself because of the insulin.

I agree. And hopefully we are some of the lucky few that it doesn't stick around! I know there a 1/3 chance of it staying or coming back later in life.

Hey long time no see! That sucks all the complications you've been having but i'm glad to hear you and baby boy are doing well now! I've also been diagnosed w/ GD, the diet wasn't helping so i am on the meds. I was taking it twice a day which was working well but even though i wasn't doing anything differently my numbers started going back up, so i've been upped to 3x a day. I am also on twice weekly NST's and BPP's. So far so good and hoping everything stays that way. For both of us!

<3 34 weeks <3 we got the c section date which is july 30

I'm 31 weeks and getting pretty darn scared.

So last night we go to the grocery store & while in line I had 2 contractions, after we got home and I put groceries away I sat at the computer & kept having contractions (which I do, esp the hour before it is time to take my procardia) So I take my meds, and eat dinner & drink water & lay on the couch to "change positions" and I still contract so I go get a hot shower, then come out &lay on my left side to time them & do kick counts. Baby did fine on the kick counts & I had a handful more contractions before they started to space out & go away! 4 hrs of contractions! ON MEDS!!! Ugh. Then an hour before it was time to take my meds I had a few more. took my procardia at mid night & went to bed. Had contractions through the night. Got up at 6 to take my procardia & didnt have any more contractions til now (an hour before my meds again) They feel more like braxton hicks, tight belly, lasts 30 secs, anywhere from every 2 mins to 10 mins! Just annoying! BUT I think lil man may have dropped because my lower back &hips are killing me & when I walk my lower belly hurts & feels really heavy!! I have an U/S scheduled onthe 2nd & my apt on the 6th (I will be 36 weeks) and they are supposed to take me off the procardia! I am nervous cus I think he may just come early!!

I'm going to guess that within a week of taking you off the meds you will have him. Not to scare you, but with what you are already having I could see it happening.

yeah I am not expecting him to make his due date! My oldest was born July 10th so my step mom thinks I will have my last born on the same day!! Which would be kinda cool, lol! I am just about ready so no worries, I still have odds & ends to pick up, but I can get them after he is born if I have to! I mean there is a lot I wanted done first!! But With SO possibly working as early as next week FINALLY after being laid off since Nov!! I see nothing getting done, lol!! But I have hi car seat ready, his bed is ready & I am ready! SO bring it on, lol!!

I don't know one mama who hasn't worried about this stuff before. Just remember, keep positive thoughts. Things will work out the way they are suppose to. And I'm sure you will do just fine
