Regret

So since my husband and I conceived when I was on birth control (NuvaRing), we obviously were not trying to conceive. My biggest concern right now is that I did drink alcohol before finding out I was pregnant. I love wine, so I had that during the first four weeks almost nightly, and on our honeymoon I had hard alcohol. We're having a honeymoon baby. I also had the occasional smoke in social settings (terrible I know, I know, but I have to be honest with you fellow mommies)! Those things have been easy as pie to quit since getting our great news, but I was wondering if anyone else did these things before finding out and had healthy pregnancies? I know how important the first trimester is and I feel a little sad about this. Anyone else have these regrets?  

That early in the pregnancy is probably not a big deal. Lots of moms do this without knowing they're pregnant.

Honestly, I did way worse before finding out I was pregnant at 5 weeks. My pregnancy was very healthy & so is my son. Your little one will be fine.

With my first boyI didnt find out I was pregnant until I was 10 weeks. I had problems on and off with cysts so my cycle was always messed up. It wasnt unusual for me to have a period twice a year. So I went about my business doing whatever, which including a lot of partying back then.

My son turned out fine but I deffintely changed my habits fast.
I was honest with my Dr and she assured me that he was ok.

I was a smoker and celebrated my 21st birthday before I found out I was pregnant and my pregnancy and baby are fine :-) you should be fine....

That early you're fine   The stressing about it is more likely to harm the baby than what you drank/smoked that early.

MANY MANY MANY babies are the result of a drunken evening. (yours was a honey moon I know which is totally different but I have a point).... But they are all okay. The sperm doesn't immediately fertilize the egg. And you have been drinking wine. It is proven that 1 NORMAL glass of red wine a day is good for a persons body. So your baby is probably just fine......I did drink before finding out I was pregnant with both of my kids. My first is 2 and 100% normal and I am 20 weeks with my second and everything is 100% a-okay. Your little one is fine. Don't stress and congrats momma 

I felt really bad too but all my babies have been healthy. As long as you are doing it anymore it shouldbe fine. Don't stress about it I'm sure your lo willbe perfectly healthy. Congrats by the way!

I was a heavy drinker before I found outi was pregnant, I'm talkin lots of beer every night no matter what, then I found out I was pregnant, and my baby is completely one hundred percent healthy and I'm 30 weeks. I had the EXACT same worries as you honey.

oh and just curious... with the nuva ring, were you using it perfectly? or did you forget to put it back in or what? i've always been on long term bc but went on nuva ring so I could have regular periods.

The first 4 weeks are when the spine develops, so there's always a little bit of worry, but most of the time babies are just fine.
I drank during the first month of both of my pregnancies because I didn't know, and both of them are just fine.  

I smoked cigarettes and pot and I threw my best friend a going away/birthday party where I did tequilla shots. My midwife said a lot of women drink/smoke before they know and my DD looks fine.

i smoked ALOT of pot before i found out about my daughter(and 4 times after i found out bc i thought i was having a MC).....i'm now 34 weeks pregnant and i'm sure my baby is fine  

but don't feel bad....it's not like you are doing lines of coke and doing crack like courtney love(and she did this KNOWING she was pregnant),her kid came out fine thank go.

Hey momma! I used the NuvaRing for over two years and I was always good about using it the right way. However, I think I did make a flub. The only thing I can think of that may have caused it to be faulty is that I took it out of the fridge and it got warm before I put the new one in from the pharmacy. My gyno told me to keep it in the fridge until you have to put it in, but I had to take it out of the fridge to travel with it on our honeymoon. She told me this over two years ago so I didn't think too much of it until I got preggo. I think the effectiveness of it went down when it was out of the fridge for too long before putting it in.
