Not only is it illegal to discontinue methadone use during pregnancy, it is also fatal to your baby! If you are already on methadone and become pregnant, weaning off is not an oprtion!

I had my daughter on 11/21 and she came home with me after a repeat c section. No withdraw . apgar score 9 normal weight all looks great! I was on methadone for most of pregnancy since I was 5-6 weeks preggo. she had very mild withdrawl syptoms yawning, sneezing, jittery but they have a scoring system they score them for symptoms and anything over 8 points they medicate.
score every 2-4 hours for 72 hours.
