What exactly is painful? Is the baby on a nerve?

I was 1 cm at 37 weeks and then closed up but I delivered at 39 weeks and 5 days naturally.

Here is some information for you about early induction, guidelines and etc.

It's best to let LO bake as long as possible. There can be serious complications to inducing labor to early. I am " pro-no-induction-till-around-41-42-weeks" because of the health benefits. But it is a personal choice that you should feel obligated to inform yourself on if that is the path you want to take. Every woman feels pain at the end of her pregnancy. Some more than others but discomfort/pain is normal and not a reason to induce. Now if the baby was not thriving or you were having health issues, then yes. But for pain... even though I know it sucks, is not a valid reason.

i know i could wait it out to my due date if i tryed i mean i made it this far whats 3wks &5 days right? im kinda scared of induction to start off with and i kinda wanna experience the whole water breaking on its own thing since it is my first but then again im also scared that i wont go into labor on my own...

i just read some of the stuff on the link and it would be horrible to think about something happening to my little girl after waiting so long to be a mom.. THANKS!!!!!!

It might not seem like a long time, but this last stretch is when they grow the most.. Look at the different brain sizes. Then the last thing to develop is lungs and you really need those.

so if he were to induce me at 39wks she would be ok?
i wouldnt wanna have her any earlier and cause anything to be wrong with her and they say to atleast wait until 39wks to be safe for the baby and mother..
i guess when my body is ready she will come and in the end its all worth it because no matter the pain she will be here and i wont remember the pain i went through..

If you feel like something "just isn't right" don't not go to the hospital because you think you should wait it out because something could be severely wrong and you think you are being selfish by not wanting to keep her in there.

I am pro, no induction. I personally feel that it is best to wait if possible to go natural. I do acknowledge that some woman don't and I do see the need for it when medically indicated. I just think it would be better to go naturally then artificially with all the medication. Because those do have side affects. But that is my personal opinion. Talk to your doctor about it. It's really your choice. Just do some research on it.

everytime i tell my doctor he says its normal that i will feel pressure my boyfriend says i should keep telling my doctor at each visit about the pressure so i guess thats what ill have to do.. i know my sister said its just the baby pushing down that its nothing to worry about cause she had the same problems at the end of both her pregnancys and her doctor induced her at 39wks..

Well does it feel like its normal pregnancy pain to you or does it feel like you are questioning what to do about it?

Well its all instinctive. I have not gone to l&d 2 times now and I probably should have because I was questioning whether or not I should and now my doctors office nurse put me on a crap load of restrictions and had I gone in even though it could have been nothing its better to be safe than sorry and this is my first pregnancy too.

i dilated 1cm at 40 weeks exact.. it took me around 8 hours of every 5mins contraction that last for 45 seconds each time... before dr decide to break my water for me.. and from there the pain is like non stop and don't have a resting time for me.. and by another 5 hours my son is born naturally... so it's depending on each individual.

i would recommend to let the baby stay inside as long as he wants to.. since you still have 2 or 3 weeks to go still ~
