A little worried here

Ok i've had a yeast infection for about a week now. I tried using monistat but it ended up burning me all night while I was trying to sleep. Anyway thats not even what i'm gonna ask. I just went to the bathroom to go pee & i've obviously been getting a lot of discharge. Anyway it looks like the discharge has bleached my underwear. I havent used monistat in a week so its not that. Anyone know why this has happened??? Has this happened to you before? I'm getting worried.

Sounds like it may not be a yeast infection I would get in to see the Dr ASAP.

I had that happen when I wasn't pregnant. I HATED the Monistat, it burned to the point where I slept with a cool wash cloth on my vajayjay. I would ask your doctor if there is anything else you can do. I started to take some acidopholus (which you can get by eating yogurt)... K.

It sounds to me that you still have an infection, and the burning sensation may be an allergic reaction. I used monistat once about 6 years ago and it made the infection "worst". I felt like it was burning me. I went to the doctor and she took one look down there and said I was allergice to the cream and to NEVER use it again. I would call your doctor asap, in case you do have an infection and had an allergic reaction. They should be able to give you something that will clear it up faster without all the suffering.

I just got off the phone with them. They want me to go in there today at 2pm. They obviously think its serious enoough. they think it may be a bacterial infection. So all will be ok. I think haha! well i'ev used monistat plenty of times before so i dont think i had a reaction to it.

Well I'd thought I'd mention it anyways. Its the only meds I've ever had an allergic reaction to, and its kinda unheard of. I mean I never even thought it was an allergic reaction until my doctor told me. But you also have to keep in mind that if you did have a reaction it may be because of the pregnancy. Your body will do some weird things while preggers- you know all the changes. I'm allergic to bandaids right now, and I've NEVER been allergic to bandaids before. Its the weirdest thing! My doc said its probably a reaction to all the changes my body's gone through. Well good luck, I know how uncomfortable that can be so I hope you feel better soon!

yeah I appreciate it! you could be right! I could have a reaction! who knows!

Ok I went to the docs earlier. Its just a bad yeast infection. Apparently the dishcharge can bleach your underwear because it can gave high acidity in it! You learn something new every day lol! All is well. She gave me a prescription & sent me on my way!

well i have discharge that sounds like that and my doctor told me that its just a side effect of the pregnancy....thats prolly what it is...did u ask a doctor before u used the monistst? cuz any medicine u need to ask a doctor before u do it cuz it could harm the baby...but other than that i think its just one of those great things that woman go through during pregnancy...but ask your doctor about it and they will take a sample and test it...

lol if you see the post above you, you'll see that I went to the doc that day, so yeah I did ask my doc about ithaha! Actually monistat is on my list of things that my OB gave me that I can use so i knew it was safe to use. Anyway yes I did have a yeast infection & they prescribed me something for it that DID NOT WORK! I still have the infection 4 weeks later.
