My scars are beautiful

This is for women who have scars with stories behind them. It can be any scar any story.
Rules
1-3 pictures of the scar you have.

How/why you got it and the story behind it.

My whole entire body is scarred.
I survived a house explosion in 2006 when I was 17 years old.
My scars are beautiful because I found someone who looked past them and accepted me, scars and all. I always say they showcase a beautiful tragedy and that my body is it's own beautiful masterpiece. I chose this image because you can really see my scars, and a lot of people call the ones on my back my "angel wings."

Goes from my pubic bone to the top of my belly button... it's 9 inches long. I had cancer 2 1/2 years ago, and it's beautiful - even though my stomach is lopsided and lumpy lol - because I'm here with my kids, and I shouldn't be.

Yeah. I was thinking about all the scars I have and I was like they are beautiful because they remind me of the past every day, they remind me that I have been through a lot of things and they tell me not to go back to the place where I was when I got most of them. Then I was like, that would be an awesome contest thing!

There's some quote I heard a while ago about scars. I can't remember where I heard it, exactly what it said, or who said it, but it was something like.... "scars tell us where we've been, not where we're going."

I would enter but i would definitely never win. I got bit in the face by a dog when i was 7 years old and had over 400 stitches and plastic surgery on my right cheek from where it went all the way through and you could see inside my cheek. The dog also got my neck and almost hit an artery where i would have died, oh he got the bend of my left arm, inside my right eye and above my right eye and above the left side of my lip. I dont have any pictires on here from when it happened. And the scars are REALLY REALLY healed and you can't even tell on my face hardly.

I had open heart surgery when I was four years old, due to a condition known as ASD. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atrial_septal_defect

The scar used to be much more prominent, but as the years went, the scar faded. I still get looks, and asked about it all of the time.

I think it's beautiful because if I hadn't gotten that surgery, I wouldn't be here today, I wouldn't have my family.
