WTF is this?! [pic included]

This has been on the back of her forearm all day. I'm assuming she woke up with it. It's a nickle-quarter sized, raised, warm bump on her arm that resembles a welt. She hasn't banged her arm on anything nor has she cut/scratched herself recently. It's had me worried all afternoon because she's never had anything like this before. I'm holding off on taking her in right now because I am carless and my husband will be home in time for me to go to school at 5:30. If i need to take her in I plan on leaving school early tonight to do so. Help me please, ladies!

Oh, yuck. It could be. It's a hard raised and warm bump. How is ringworm caused? I know she would need Rx meds for it to go away.

That doesnt look like ring worm my son has had those and that really looks like a mosquitoe bite. Spider bites would have holes in the middle wher the teeth would have been. Does it itch?

Is there anyway to put heat on it like a compress or maybe a bandaid with some sort of ointment to see if it draws a head? It may be an infected hair folicle or a boil of some sort.

Lol, they'd have to be huge ass teeth to leave holes that wouldn't swell shut from the inflammation.

I don't really want to mess with it like that. I hope it's not a boil but I kinda have a feeling it could be.

It doesn't seem to bother her. She said it doesn't itch and she hasn't been messing with it.

You don't really have to mess with it. Honestly when my daughter got one, I just put a bandaid with an ointment on it before her Dr appt and it ended up getting a head on it. He said that was the best way to draw the infection to the head and it not be as big. It would eventually pop or I could try to pop it. But my child was only like 1 1/2 years old so I just kept it covered with a bandage to help bring it to the surface.

Yeah I think I'm going to go in for a half day to day at school and leave at 7 to take her in. I want her to get evaluated before I go messing with it, kwim?

She says it itches now

My brother had a spider bite on his knee they do leave hole and no matter how swollen it gets the holes will not shut they will usually even start to change colors and rot the skin around it! He had to go to the hospital and get it cut opened and drained and stuffed with gauze!
