In our case, it was medical diagnosis that confirmed my daughter was high/special needs

My daughter has always had a high level of anxiety. She needs constant attention and entertainment. As a baby you couldn't put her down or even sit down while holding her. She needed constant motrin to be content. If she's not content or entertained she's screaming, sobbing, or throwing a tantrum. She's never been able to just sit and relax.

Quoting *Conner's Momma*:" I'm not sure if my LO is high needs or not.. He is definitely demanding!!! He just about always has to ... [snip!] ... or if he is maybe high needs... He's 3 1/2 months old and has been this way since he turned 3 weeks... what do you guys think?"

Sounds like he may be to me. I'd invest in a wrap, seriously a life saver

My second is extremely high needs. She came out just like that. Shes never, ever happy unless you are in her face. My husband stays home with my girls all day and when hes playing with my 28 month old, shes freaking out the entire time. We joke around and say she wasn't ready for the world yet.

Quoting *Conner's Momma*:" I have a front pack but I'm hopefully in the process of getting an ergobaby carrier... maybe that will help. He's usually ok with the front pack but it kills my back so I can't wear it long."

I feel your pain. It's really rough. My daughter would start screaming in the car if we were at a stop light for too long. It was awful. I've learned to be patient with her but I definitely still have my moments. She's also gotten really good with entertaining herself.

Quoting Mrs. Dexter Morgan:" Need your constant attention, need to held constantly even past the separation anxiety baby stage, loud, tantrumy at a young age. "

This, especially tantrumy. My daughter could throw a fit at 5 months old. Like kicking her feet, clinching her fist, shaking her body as she screamed. Before she was mobile she was always needing me to play for her, if that makes sense. She didnt want to play with anything unless I was playing with her. It was to the point that I couldnt sit her down to go to the bathroom, clean the house, make lunch or a bottle, etc. And there's something about the screams of high need babies. They're piercing loud lol

Also, they have terrible sleeping patterns.

My daughter STILL screams if the car stops moving for any amount of time

Mine doesn't scream anymore but she gets all fidgety. She hates sitting in the car if it isn't moving.
