Quad Marker Screen

So today i go in and get blood taken to see if my baby may have any of the birth defects....how many of you ladies took the test? what were your results?

Any info would be great!

I don't know if it's the same stuff I got done. I had blood work done & they took like 8 tubes of blood & that's all I heard from that.

I had that test done and she is just fine. I have a cousin with down syndrome so I was kind of worried but she is just fine. Good luck. From what I heard it's a very small chance something could be wrong with your baby. I will pray that everything is just fine for you.

I have worked with mentally and physically handy capped adults so i know what things i would have to take care of if my child did have any problems...but its hard to think that anything could be wrong with you little precious baby......
My doctor said that if they do come back positive for something they would send me to the Hospital in Duluth with a NIC unit... my dr said that some women want to have a pregnancy termination and if i couldn't handle the baby...i kinda gave her a cockeyed look and let her know that i couldn't do it. and that i know how much work a baby with special needs is...that doesn't matter to me...i know i can do it! i just want to have a happy and healthy baby...i dunno...but thank you! it means alot to me that you pray for the baby and myself..you have a kind heart.... I feel like i am about to cry...damn hormones... ^-^

I took the test and I am glad that I did. At 17 weeks they found a Echogenic Intracardiac Foci on my babies heart and I was all worried and thinking something was wrong with my baby, well I did the quad screen and everything came back normal and I was so happy. I did a level II ultrasound at like 34 weeks and there was nothing found on his heart so I was happy about that. I think the testis great.

I did the quad screen and it came back as increased risk for Down's. Went for a level II ultrasound and there were no markeres at all for Down's, so the dr. said that I have the same risk as everyone else. I'm glad I got it done. I'd rather be ready to deal with a birth defect than be surprised by it.
