nurse the baby so their nose is pointed towards the clog
heating pads or a hot shower on the spot amd push on it towards your nipple to help push the milk out.
i had one for a week when i weened my son. ouch~!!!

i hope this helps!!!!

I had the same thing a week ago. If it's red and hot or you feel dizzy and have a fever, go to the doctor! I waited a week, and tried every home remedy (cabbage leaves, tea bags, hot showers and compresses). Turns out i had a horrible case of mastitis and the doctor pretty much yelled at me for not coming in sooner becuse it's a serious infection. Just be careful!

Ouch! I've never nursed before but I am planning to this time around so I've been reading a lot about it. Also, my doctor has told me to use Lansiloh (I think that's what it's called) between feedings because helps to prevent the clogs from happening. But I found this article on the web...I hope it gets better for you soon!

it sounds like an infection. most women think it's a clogged duct at first and find out later that it's actually infected. The nurses at the hospital warned me about getting stressed out after my daughter was born and started running a fever. She was in the hospital and I was trying to be there and at home with my oldest and i was stressing really bad. Appareantly stress causesmomsto get tehse infections. Weird. I hope youfeel better soon.
