anxious for ultrasounds

posted 24th Mar
I am 17 wks tomorrow and havent felt the baby kick yet.
This is my third child and I cant remember when I felt the other two but by this stage my baby bump was starting to show and Im pretty sure I could feel them. At my last appt (16 wks) they werent able to hear the heartbeat (I havent heard it so far) but after an ultrasound, they saw the baby was dancing around and the heart was beating strong.
I'm about 15 lbs heavier than i was at the begining of the other two and i know that moms with a little "extra" around the middle dont show as fast and often dont feel fetal movements as early. But even though I know all this I keep freaking out that something is wrong... why cant i feel it yet??? why do i just look fat and not pregnant yet?
i know this is probably really common among slightly overweight mommys but having had it fast and easy with the other two, i cant help my anxiety over this last one. I am so anxious for my next ultrasound in 2 wks since i'll be 19wks and SHOULD be feeling the baby and showing by then and the heartbeat will be audible. should be anyways...........
Is anyone else having similar anxieties?

I've got a little extra around the middle too....okay so its not that little but I felt the flutters starting at 17-18 weeks. They are getting more consistent now at 19 weeks. I love it!! I know I'd feel it more if I didnt have the "extra" lol

When i first went to the doctor he freaked me out cause all he could see was a sac and no baby when according to my LMP I should have been 5 or 6 weeks. He made me wait 3 long torturous weeks before he did another ultrasound and there it was. Moving as shaking with a heartbeat to boot @8 weeks and 4 days.
I'm stillon friggin red alert untilmy next OB appt(Mar 29th) I'm only 10 weeks and i'm nervous as hell.

With my first I had a pouch by my 12 week and was rounding out by weeks 16. I was eating everything that couldn't run away!!!! I even felt him kick for the first time @ 17 weeks.

I almost need to have an ultrasound just for peace of mind.

Thats EXACTLY how I'm feeling. One of my best friends just had a miscarriage with her 2nd child and although she was only like 6 wks at the time, it's still made me even more paranoid with this one!
I read online on one of the baby sites that by wk 19 everyone can pretty much feel the baby so I'm just going to TRY to be patient (yeah, right) and wait for my appt on the 8th when I'll be 19wks.
Every ultrasound is so comforting. Plus, I love seeing the baby.

I keep watching the discovery health channel and all their baby delivery shows and i think thats one reason i'm freaking out since i keep seeing all the complicated pregnancies on tv where the people have all the severe baby issues.

i sould just stop watching them... lol
