I'm a Tough Mudder *updated OP*

posted 2nd Nov '11
Edited 10/5/12:
I finished Tough Mudder! The point of this thread is to show you that you CAN do whatever you put your mind to. Unite Mudders and Mudders in spirit, let's do this!
http://forum.baby-gaga.com/about2341316.html

Original post:
After my warrior dash experience I plan on completing Tough Mudder in September 2012. This gives me 10 months to train for this grueling 10 mile obstacal course run. Currently I run 3 miles 3-4 x's a week. Starting later today I will begin my training and will eventually get my runs up to 9-10 miles as well as follow the training guide on their website:

I invite anyone who wishes (whether you plan to run this or not) to train with me. I will plan to update this thread daily sharing my experience with the exercises. I'll probably switch things up over the next few months as well and probably incorperate a boot camp class somewhere along the way.

Anyway, join me if you wish or just lend your support. I could never have come this far without my BG ladies!

The plan:

use this on days that say "crossfit"

You did Warrior Dash?!

Awesome!!

I live in Hollister (near Casa De Fruta). I wish I would have done it. I have let my fitness fall by the wayside. I would have loved to do it.

I know a few people who did and they posted pics on FB. It looked FUN!

Tough mudder? Never heard of it..I'll check it out!
Last year I was going to do a triathlon (the mermaid) in Capitola/Santa Cruz, but balked. I'm afraid to ocean swim

Yes! It was one of the most AMAZING experiences of my life. Totally awesome and will probably do it next year if they come here again.

You should do it next time! It's seriously a fun race. Only thing I didn't like is they kept saying "when you get to the finish you get a beer!". I was like "I'm allergic to beer"

My friend does one near fort ord (monterey area) she does it in March. I'll find out more info and report back. Idk, that might be more out of the way for you..

OMG I'm soooo doing the dash next year! I wanted a giant turkey leg LOL

I heard it was swamped with people though
I guess I need to keep tabs on it and sign up early!

Monteray is about 6 hours south of here but I like to have an excuse to go that way.

It was totally swamped, but well organized. With spectators there were 12,000 people there.

it seems like the warrior dash, but a little longer distance. Idk how I would feel about climbing a wall. I probably couldn't do it

OO I may do that as a good motivator! There were walls and climbing in the warrior dash as well. I just wore gloves, even though I got nasty rope burn on my arm.

I know I could do a rope wall, even though I would look like a complete goober. But a solid wall..now that would pose a problem haha
