I'm doing it with a team. My gym has a team of a few people. It looks like its going to be fun.

So I had my first session with a personal trainer today. I feel super guilty for hiring one but I feel it's going to give me the edge I need. Ow my arms hurt LOL

For the past 5 months or so, I run about 30 miles a week, weight train 3x a week, Zumba (which is my normal thing lol) twice a week, and I'm almost done with week 2 of insanity
I'm not too worried about it. I have a few friends that have done it and didn't train for it at all lol it will just take longer and be a little more difficult. But the week I compete, I won't really be working out. I kind of messed my knee up recently, trying to work through it.

Oh that's so awesome! I've been lagginag a bit since starting my new job in May, I just hope I still have enough time to perform adequately.

I love Zumba!!

You'll do fine girl! which event are you doing?
Remember it's not about finishing first, but just finishing! I'm just nervous because of the elevation in Tahoe, right now I'm in sacramento, we're going up a good 24 hours ahead to get used to it, and such but that and the fact that we have to maybe do it in the snow is a little unnerving :/ the average low for that time of the year is low 30's and it's snowed during that time before. so I'm a little nervous about that, but not finishing the course haha

I'm doing the one the week after tahoe at Diablo Grande. I thought about doing the one in Tahoe but the elevation is too much for me right now. Yikes about the snow, I think with the odd weather we've been having snow isn't going to be an issue

I think it's possible to bypass the water obsitcals if you wish. I can't wait to see how you do, then I'll have a better idea

So I went to our team meeting today and I have to say I'm afraid I'm going to be the dumb fat girl holding everyone up. Everyone else on the team is uber fit. When I told the team captain, the owner of the gym I went to, that I could, indeed, run 13 miles he acted like I was lying.

3 weeks. 3 smurfing weeks to prove these people wrong.

You can do it!! Keep your head up, you know what you're capable of. Enjoy the fact that in 3 weeks you get to see that stupid look of surprise on their faces.

Yes, I know one dude, but don't like know know him, and I've worked out with the teamate I'm rooming with. That's about it. I've figured I'm going to kick it into high gear and REALLY push until, the end, taper off the last week and then I'll be ready. I know I need to add in a good 15-20 mins per 3 miles for the obsticals so I know I can do it in under 4 hours. The problem is I know they have a "time limit" to reach the halfway point, I just don't know what that is right now and that worries me as the average time is 3 hours.

Do they have a time limit? Because I think that is unfair especially if you get a later start time, my friend said the course is so packed later in the day you have to WAIT to do obstacles. We were supposed to start at 9:20, and our official start time is 11am. Which totally blows :/
And worse, I had an asthma attack 2 days ago that I had to go to the hospital for   I'm hoping I'm squared away by next weekend. otherwise I will just do my best, I have a girlfriend that was spectating anyways, and she has all my inhalers she will bring around. I'll be pissed if I can't finish because of ASTHMA!!! grrrrr! It's been a crappy week, especially because I can't workout right now until it's under control and I was going to take the week off basically, now I feel like I shouldn't
