Losing Twins at 19 weeks
posted 2nd Nov '11
I was 19 weeks along when i had lost my twins, at 18 weeks just found out that i was carrying twins but Baby A was unable to survive..So they sent me too a special hospital where they would have a better idea on how to handle the situation, lil did I know when I got there that Both the babies water sacs had broken and both babies had no chance of survival..Now I knew something was wrong, I tried to go to the nurse here where I live , but she said its nothing, and said to wait for my app. down south, U see where i live is an isolated village, and there is really no steady nurse that comes in every 3 weeks..which is sad i know but thats what Health Canada gives us..But the day i got down south for my app. had a 3 hr ultrasound done, only too find out that one baby was on its way out, and they gave me 24hrs to decide if I wanted them to induce the labour or let it go naturally, so I told them I would like 24 hrs to decide..and 11 am that morning, i went into labour naturally..So My baby boy Paul Edward Mckay came out first, followed by my girl Marilyn Amy Mckay ( who was stillborn) We got to hold both of them, which was nice, Paul lived for an hr after he was born..Losing twins is hard, we finally jus had their burial Sept 30th 2011..They came into this world Feb 16th 2011..We had them cremated Feb 18th 2011..Now that they buried my heart feels much better and I know they at peace..But I know that I still need to grieve once in awhile, the pain will always be there, but too know that they are now at peace beside their great grandparents puts my mind at ease..And yes I know losing a child is not what every parent will experience, and I hope No one willforum.baby-gaga.comin, but it does happen, and it is rarely talked about..I would like too know if there is someone out there who shares the same experience...

Im so sorry for your loss. I didnt lose twins but I did loss 2 babies in a 17 month period. My daughter has been gone now for almost 3 years I had my m/c a little over a year ago now. As much as I would like to tell you that time will make the pain go away I cant. Yes with time the pain will become bearable but it never fully goes away. For me its always hard because my sister had a son 6 months after my daughter was supposed to be born. So every time I see my nephew it always makes me think of my daughter and how the two of them should be play mates and close friends.
