Bumbleride Indie Twin reviews?
posted 24th Mar
Hi all!
This is my first time posting here, so sorry it's to ask questions and not contribute anything! But soon!
Anyway, I'm expecting a baby in November and am planning ahead here, trying to decide which double stroller I want. My daughter will be 2.5 yrs when the baby arrives but we don't have a car and so walk everywhere so she'll need to have a sit down.
Anyway, I think I've narrowed it down to two options:
1) Jane Powertwin and
2) Bumbleride Indie Twin
Now the only thing is, I live in Ireland so while I can go to any shop and try the Jane Powertwin out, the Bumbleride is not available here so I can't sit DD in to see how it feels.
Does anyone here have one or has anyone seen one in real life? I'd really love some feedback on it, because I think it's really cute! (which is a major factor in the decision process.) It'll also work out as a lot cheaper than the Jane, even with shipping.
Thanks in advance!

Oh, it's a Phil and Teds. I had one of those but sold it to a friend. I didn't like how the baby was so close to the ground. I only used it as a single, but my partner is very tall and if we had DD lying down flat, he used to hit her head with his knees, which wasn't cool!
But everyone here loves them. I'll be the total outsider when they find out I don't want one! I'm such a rebel... Ahem...

i dont like phil and teds as i dont like the idea of having a newborn close to the ground.....
what about getting a Litaf Seat 2 Go its like a step up board buthas 2 shelves, the child has a choice of either sitting down or standing up and attaches to the back of the stroller... i know they sell them at tesco direct.£39.96
i will be in the same boat as you when my baby is born, and i found alot of double nice strollers not the side to side, dont have much head room leg room for the toddler, so i just brought a step up board....

I have a Bumbleride Flier and I am in LOVE with it.
It was worth every penny IMO.
Feel free to ask any questions, I dont know what you'd like to know besides that I love it! lol.

Oh that's good! So do you think they're well made?Because if I buy it, and it breaks, it'll cost me a fortune to send it back!
Have you ever seen the indie twin in real life? Do you think if I emailed Bumbleride they would be able to give me the dimensions of the seats? Just so I can compare them to my other option, the Jane Powertwin, which I believe does not have a large front seat.
Other than that, I could get the Bebe Confort Twin Club, but it's really expensive! But can be used as a double or a single. Oh decisions!!!

If you call them they should be able to tell you the dimentions - did you check the website? They should be there as well, I would think. I have never seen it in real life... my bumbleride is the only one I have ever seen in real life (like on the streets, not in the store), lol.
I dont know anything about your other 2 strollers you are considering. But I know how tough of a decision it can be... I am in the middle of a similar one over an umbrella stroller as we speak!

Thanks so much Gwenny!!! I've been googling every couple of days and haven't come up with anything.
So interesting to see it with an actual person standing next to it. It looks perfect for what I need, but HUGE when folded!!! And the fact that it doesn't have clips to hold it together when folded is a bit annoying, but I'll be using it every day so won't need to fold it that much (ahem!).
I think I'll go for it, as soon as I can find a decently priced international shipper!
Thanks again!

Hi--not sure if it is too late for your purchase or not, but I recently ordered the Bumbleride Indie Twin. I have a 2 year old (Finn O'Boyle, speaking of Ireland) and am expecting in July. I would agree with everything the review that Gwen included from the website--it is also hard to find reviews on this since it is so new.
The stroller is very well made. I ordered mine from elitecarseat.com b/c they have a $5 return shipping insurance. I also ordered the Zooper Tango for comparison. Bumbleride is much better made and easier to push, definitely much easier and a smooth ride. I like the adjustable handles, esp. since my husband is tall. I don't jog nor do I intend to, but I do walk a lot in my neighborhood and this easily went over any bump or hose lying across the sidewalk while the Zooper didn't.
The only hangup I have is that it is really cumbersome to fold--at least more than I am used to with my normal single stroller (Peg Perego). And heavy, but they all are. I have researched these darn double strollers for weeks now and can't seem to find one that fits my needs 100% and locally I don't have a lot of options nor are there many double strollers that are compatible w/my carseat (Chicco)--thank god for websites. But I think I will probably keep the Bumbleride and send back the Zooper. Another one that seems to get good reviews and easy to fold, etc., is the Baby Jogger brand if you can get that in Ireland!
also the website I mentioned (elitecarseat.com) has great customer service if you have questions about dimensions, etc. Good luck!

i have a bumbleride queen b, and its amazing. its definitely of good respectable quality. also, there is a toddler seat attachment that can be used. depending on the age of your child, this may be a good option!

Thanks so much Finnmom!!! I think I'm going to go ahead and order it this week. Have been using a Maclaren Twin Techno for childminding and am getting pains in my hips due to pregnancy, but pushing that crappy Maclaren has made it so much worse!!! I need the big wheels!!!
I'm sure I could order the Baby Jogger too but the Bumbleride is prettier
I also don't intend to Jog. Ever. But the footpaths (sidewalks) here are very unpredictable, lots of up and down curbs so great to hear it'd be able to manage them. My partner is also quite tall so good to know he'll be able to use it too!
It's not compatable with my carseat (Maxi Cosi) but that's ok, it's a small price to pay for everything else it seems to offer! (plus I'm going to damn well try to get that carseat in to it anyway, just in case!!!) Love the name Finn, would love to use it for a boy but my Aunt's dog is called Finn so it's a no-go.
Flirtychick I had though of getting the toddler seat but I like the idea of my older daughter being able to lie down for a nap as we spend a lot of time out and about.
Thnaks so much for replying!!! I think I've made my mind up!!! Bumbleride it is, I'm sure my hip will thank me for it!!!

Since this was bumped up I want to add that yesterday I went to my first meeting with a mommy group I joined and one of the other moms there works at a portrait studio. I told her Kailyn and I went there once and we loved them. She looked at me funny for a minute and said "You are the one with a Bumbleride arent you??" lol - thought it was funny. Its obviously a memorable stroller around these parts!
