Passed a blood clot at 34 weeks?

What could that be? A friend told me it could be that I'm losing my mucous plug. Is that true?
I went to the bathroom and when I wiped, there was a blood clot the size of a grape on the toilet paper and my discharge was tinted pink. I know the baby is okay cause I can still feel him moving. I just want to know why I'm passing a blood clot. Anyone know?

Have you had sex recently? That just happened to me. I got checked and everything was ok. For me, it was most likely the sex, but your plug could be a reason as well...

i would guess mucus plug..

Nope. No sex. I was having lots of problems earlier in the pregnancy and kept getting put on bedrest and told "NO sexual activity!!!" Now that I can have sex, my bf is scared to because he's heard so many horror stories about mucous plugs and water breaking and stuff. I'm pretty sure that if he were to get any of a mucous plug on him or my water broke and any of it got on him, he'd faint. He's SUCH a wimp. LOL

Then I'm fairly sure it was your plug. I'm not a doc tho, so don't sue me later!!   That was more than likely what happened with me too...the sex just helped it along. But keep a look out, and if anything else fishy happens, call your doc and ask. That's what they get paid for...

yup that's what it sounds like to me. i've heard people explain it as a yellow color like snott and others say its blood tinged or like a blood clott. probably nothing to worry about.

The only thing I would add is that my doctor told me that if I was to have that happen, any kind of discharge change or bloody show or anything that could be the plug, I should let them know about it, especially if I was not term yet. So you might want to let your doc know.

Yeah. I'm definitely planning on letting him know. I have an appointment tomorrow (Monday). That will be the first thing I talk about! :-)
