Vaginal Pain After Cerclage

Hello out there. I am 14 weeks pregs for the second time and I have been experiencing stabbing pains high up in my vagina for the last 24 hours. I lost my last baby at 21 weeks due to IC and remember feeling the same pains as I was going into labor. Of course, there is no bleeding this time. I had a cerclage put in a week ago and everything seemed to go fine. I am scheduled to see the high-risk Doc on the 31st, but I wanted to ask if any other ladies who have had cerclages have experienced anything like this. I am trying hard not to freak out and be logical, but it is SO HARD because I want this baby SO BAD and my hormones are going CRAZY! lol! :-) Any info would be helpful...thanks!

I don't have any experience with a cerclage or anything but I wanted to let you know that I am praying for you and this pregnancy that it makes it to term and you get your healthy full term baby this time. I am so very sorry for your loss.  

I'm kinda worried now, because after my first baby. I had a leep procedure done like 4 yrs ago, I wonder if my cervix could possibly be weaker now. I'm not to far along, but my midwife hasn't really looked down since my first appoint. I'll have to make sure they check on that. I'm about at that point when it can be a problem.

You won't find a lot of women on here with cerclages. I developed IC due to a few surgeries that I had previous to me getting pregnant. I got my cerclage at 15 weeks and it stayed in until I delivered at 37.5 weeks. I was scheduled to have it removed at 36 weeks but--my doc was on a conference trip and she was breech. Yes, you will have pain. Does you physician have you on a medication to keep the contractions at bay?

I called my specialist and he said that since there is no blood there is no problem. He said it was probably muscles stretching because little one is getting bigger. Though I wonder how someone who is only 3 1/2 inches long could make such a difference!
