Date for baby shower

Please help me! I am trying to figure out a date for my shower. My sister in law says it should be 3 weeks before my due date. I think that is too late, and that it should be 5 or 6 weeks before I'm due. Any input?? Is there a set time you should have it? My friend just had hers 8 weeks before her due date. What is the correct etiquite here? Thanks!!!!

1-2 months before your due date is usually a good time.. but you can have one at any time.. im due june 16th and my baby shower is set for may 3rd.. i made it that way so that i would have time before the baby got here to get all the extra stuff that i didnt get at the baby shower..

I'm doing mine 6 weeks before my due date.. that way I'll be big enough to show off but I won't be too tired and stuff. Plus I want to have time after the shower to set everything up and buy all the stuff we didn't get without feeling like i'm rushing. I've heard lots of stories of girls delivering days after their showers if they plan it too close.. I don't want that to be me! Lol..

I was due at the end of July and I had one the beginning of May and 2 the beginning of June. I think it should be done early enough for you to be able to get everything ready for the little one.

im having mine in the begining of june 2 months and a half befor my due date only cause in the summer people go away and stuff.. i think you should have it when you feel comfortable. you want to feel good at your shower and have fun not all huge and swollen.... do it your way and who cares what anyone but you thinks.

i think about one month before is average... but whenever you want it is just fine!! im having mine about 6 weeks before of schedule conflicts and stuff and no one has said a word to me about it being too late or too early. its your shower and if you and helping with the planning - you can have it whenever you want!!

Thanks!!!!”mine was last weekend and i'm due april 5th, but most people have their when they're like 7 1/2 months... that way, just incase you go early, you already have your stuff, and this way if you don't get anything u really need, then u have time to go save up and buy it!

I'm going to have mine about 6 weeks from my due date. For one reason, I don't want her/ him to come early and another is that if i don't get all that I need, I still have plenty of time to go get it
