Overseas??? Babies R US is APO friendly.

posted 16th Mar
Some of you may know this and if you do, cool. Im slow when it comes to shopping online, so I thought it was the greatest thing in world that Babies R US delivered to APO addresses. I'm stationed overseas, so the things I'd like to buy arent always easy to find. I just wanted to put that out there for other military mamas.

I also can pretty much only get my beloved "American" products through my husband's APO box over here in Kuwait.. Kuwait has SOME American things but they're all so rediculously overpriced! Amazon is my lifeline I swear to God.. Another thing though if you haven't looked into it is a site called ShipitAPO.com....

You can set up an account there (basically just give them your bank info) and if you want to order something online and the seller won't ship to APO, you give them the shipping info to the address that ShipitAPO gives you (it's a US address) - Then they in turn will ship it to your APO box provided the package isn't too large (can't be over 70 lbs). It's a special service with the military in mind and I think it's great.. I've gotten ALOT of stuff through it that we wouldn't have been able to get over here (at least not for the same price - we'd be broke if we tried to buy everything over here and you'd think shipping would be extremely expensive but we had a 50 lb computer sent here for under $100 - AND I've gotten a few Little Tikes and Step2 toys this way). Give it a look see if you're interested but I'm off to babiesrus.com now!

Lol, I've heard. I was looking at your profile. I get alot of soldiers that say that. I am pretty lucky not to be near the border.

I worked up around the DMZ and ppl were always 10X nicer. We released the rehab animals up there. People that came to the center took my picture a lot b/c I guess it was weird to see a white girl, or I'm naive and just really ugly lol.

my husband is stationed in japan and i will be going with him pretty soon before baby comes out. it sucks how do you feel about not having your family there when your baby is born? that is good cause its hard to find the things you want in another country.

Its hard but since we're both military we kind of got use to the idea of not having that extra support. A good bond between my husband and I is what helps me. Not to mention Vonage. You have to get it! I got to keep my old state side number and I can call my mother when ever I need to without worrying about long distance charges. Hope you have fun in Japan. Its all what you make of it when you're in another country.

i know ihave that program skype and i have the las vegas aread code (im from reno) so i'll be able to keep in touch with my family. i've bought practically everything over here already so when they pick up my things. How long have you been stationed over there? i think wal mart also ships to apo and fpo addresses.

I had vonage and it was a life saver. I was so sick of buying phone cards.
I wish we could have been stationed in Seoul, it would have made life a lot better. Casey is really actually dangerous. I would go out alone at night, and barely wanted to when my husband was with me. It sucked where I was, but I loved the PX and the Commissary in Yongsan, and the base seemed a lot more clean and safer.

That you did
If my husband got transferred to Seoul I would probably go back. I had a nice Gyno in Seoul. Dr Fower? I really liked him. But I was so afraid to be far away from 121 when I got far along. I always wanted to live in Asia, my house here is decorated in tons of stuff-and then me living there turned me off. I wonder if Japan is nicer?
