Would there be anyway to add a feature to Gaga, that if a person from your parentank creates a new thread you are notified??

Sometimes I feel so horrible, because the people I want to keep up to date with their babies and lives I miss threads they post on occasions.

I hope theres a way. LOL

Oh, me likey! I miss a LOT of those threads because of the time difference and I don't want to bump an old one once I find that thread on my friend's profile. Ju know? Good idea Melissa!

Awesome idea!! I've thought about it before!

It's already in the works, although to enable this feature we still have to add a bunch of privacy options (e.g. an option to only allow people in your parentank to track or receive notifications of topics you have posted).

We will also include updates when someone in your parentank has uploaded new images. We are still debating about whether or not to include more minor updates, like if someone from your parentank comments on another profile, receives a comment on their profile, parentanks a member, etc. I'd prefer to keep the type of events relevant, otherwise it will just become a long list of things you don't really care about. I may make the types of events editable, so that you can choose what kind of events you want to be notified of, but I would first have to make sure that this is computationally feasible...

BTW, do many of you use the "tabs" on the topics list pages to filter out topics by "my parentank", "my family", "my location"? If you click on the "my parentank" tab only those topics made by anyone in your parentank will show. Do you find those tabs helpful or can you think of ways to improve their usefulness?

Eek I think the notifications about new comments on a profile would be a bit much O.O

I would agree with the comments being a bit much -- does anyone see any value in keeping up with other member's comments?

Here are also some options in terms of following a members' posts:
1) only when someone in your parentank posts a new topic
2) only for the first time a member in your parentank posts in a topic
3) everytime a member in your parentank posts in a topic

I think option (3) would be overwhelming if you have a large parentank, but maybe it's desirable if you only have a few people in there? Option (2) would give you almost the same level of overview for your parentank but use less clutter.

Maybe you can choose the people in your parentank on who you want to be notified of a new topic.. (does that make sense)?
