re: OFFICIAL JUNE 2012

I am due June 24th with a lil girl Leia Daelyn....im a lil late on here lol...I go to the docs on monday so im hoping for some news...i really was hoping she would be a little early but i dont think she will be, probably over due like my 1st and 3rd..

I just wanted to post and let everyone know that I had my baby boy...

4lbs 13oz and 18 inches

He was born at 38 weeks & 2 days gestation and I had him vaginally (w/ an epidural of course lol). But I was induced early due to him measuring 2 weeks behind on my weekly ultrasounds since 32 weeks plus my fluids were very low at my 38 week checkup on Thursday (the 14th). So they had me go straight from my appt over to L&D to get admitted...they started me on the pic drip at 6:00am, the dr came and broke my water at around 10-10:30'ish and he was born at 12:19pm - so it went pretty fast! I know the labor & contractions didn't really start until he broke my water - and that's when the real pain kicked in! I know I also had to get the epidural done twice cause my first one didn't take for some reason - but thankfully the second one did cause about 20 minutes after he got it in (and gave it just enough time to kick in) I was ready to push!

But anyways, I just wanted to update everyone (I know I'm a little late) but things have been hectic ever since I had him, cause he's had a few problems...nothing major, but he's still in the hospital and has a feeding tube. I know when he was first born he had some breathing trouble (he was breathing really fast - almost twice as fast as normal) so they put him on oxygen plus had to give him an IV since they couldn't feed him where he was breathing real fast they said he would get choked or try to puke it back up. So since the hospital I had him at isn't very 'high tech' and it's a small town they ended up sending him to the university hospital that's 2. 1/2hrs away as a 'precaution' where he is so little plus they just aren't 'equipped' to handle stuff like that. I know they said a lot of babies do that breathing but it usually goes away after 4-6 hrs but his didn't...so that's another reason they sent him.

So now he's doing really good though! He got taken off the oxygen & IV like the next day and all he needs to get rid of now is the feeding tube then he can come home! I know the only issue w/ him now is eating...he's not eating as much as they like/want for him to - but he's been doing good the past 2 days w/ eating. So the nurse said if he keeps it up then they'll take the feeding tube out and will keep Gina day or two afterwards to make sure he's gonna do good without it and if he does, then he can come home!  

So if you ladies don't care - please say a little prayer for my baby boy and that he continues to eat good & can get that tube taken out so we can go home soon! And I will update w/ my labor story & pictures probably when I get home (which is whenever they let him go) since IDK how to post pics from my iPhone on here? Anyone know how to? LOL. Anyways, I'll post whenever we get to leave the hospital and update about his progress until then whenever I have the time. But congrats also to anyone else that has had their babies and goodyck to those momma's who haven't yet!   Take Care!

Wow...where the heck is everyone at?!

I am assuming that everyone on here is like me and has been busy w/ their new little bundles of joy huh?  

Anyways, I just wanted to check in and see how everyone was doing? I'm guessing that everyone has had their babies by now right? I wanna hear everyone's birth stories, birth stats, see baby pics, etc. dang it LOL! I will try posting my labor story, pics, etc. sometime here soon - I know I've been having trouble out of my little guy the past few days...he's SO constipated it isn't funny and he's had me up all night and day for the past 3-4 days now w/ a tummy ache crying and screaming and NOTHING I've done has been able to help it! Well I took him to the ER today and they gave him a script of glycerin suppositories to give him and I did, and so far he's had one really good bowel movement and it's just been an hour so YAY for that...hopefully it keeps it up!   I know he was fine the first few days we brought him home last week and then it just started up him being like this (cause he was in the NICU for 12 days after his birth) and they sent him home w/ vitamins and iron to take, and I'm pretty positive the iron is what is causing him to be constipated!

But I hope that all you ladies and your babies are doing good...it would be great to hear from everyone and get updates on all the little ones if anyone even still gets on here anymore? LOL. BTW, what is the link for the June Mommies FB Group? I've been meaning to ask for a while now so I can join it since I'm on FB more then here, but keep forgetting!

Kaleb Andrew Edwards was born 6.26.12 @ 8:06am 9lbs 5oz 20 inches!
I haven't gotten around to writing my birth story yet, not that theres much to put...I had a c-section that wasn't planned till the day before!
