Has anyone itched all over, I really mean all over. It's driving me crazy and nothing works. Doc ordered a blood test at last appt. I heard this could be a problem. Can any relate?

Irene, hi there. I'm new in this site but I've been reading some of the updated posts. Did you eat anything like shrimp or something? How many months are you by the way? I think if you are ichy in your tummy and back then I think the hair of your baby is growing . but then again I might be wrong. oh well, get back to me on this. hope to hear from you soon.

Check what's in your prenatal vitamins...like ALL the ingredients. You may be allergic? Try switching brands. Twinlab's prenatal gelcaps are great. No foul smell, either! Drugstore.com has them.
Otherwise, it might be that pregnancy has made your skin more sensitive than normal... try skipping the fabric softener ( if you use it) and just using plain laundry detergent...or switching your laundry detergent. If you just switched, that could also be your problem. Try switching back, and see if it helps.
Good luck!!!

Well, I haven't changed anything literally in the past few years, which includes soaps, detergents, softners, lotions, etc. I've had the same prenatals since my first in 2002 pregnancy and have been on them all my other three pregnancies which includes this one. I went to the doc today and he drew some blood to check my bile salt levels. He said it might be my hormones affecting my liver. The name of the the condition if I'm right is pregnancy chloestatis. So, if it is, I will probably be induced early. He said there is a about a 15% higher risk of having a stillborn if I go to full term. Hopefully it's not the case. Now I'm scared.

From what I've seen he is right to do the blood test, and hopefully you will get the results soon! Anyways...though....usually if you are itching ALL over and it is later on in your pregnancy than it can be what you are talking about! But if you aren't in the very end of your second trimester or in your third trimester it is probably just your body changing!   At least that would be my opinion.....I'm not a doctor though! LOL!

It's just so annoying. I can't sleep at night or am just aggravated during he day. I didn't have any of this w/ my last three pregnancies. I'm 24wks. So I have another at least 13wks left. I say 13 instead of 16 because, all the other three were born 37wks .

I understand completely. This is my first pregnancy. I'm not sure that she will be early, but I think she will. I don't know why I just think she will be early. I am measuring big for sure the doctor ordered an u/s but it isn't until the 8th so we'll see! My feet itch a lot...that's really the worse! I'm sure everything will be fine just don't stress yourself out too much and keep me posted!

Geez, knowing my body, I'm pretty sure this one will do the same. The last one, I went so fast that my altogether labor was only an hour and half and he plopped out on his own. Seriously I was trying to hold him in. There was not a doc or nurse in the room. When I was admitted, they checked my cervix, which was only three cm. Fifteen minutes later he fell out. My first one that made it I pushed once, second baby I started to push and the rest she just fell out too.

Well, I do hope you have it this easy! I'm telling you that's why I think I keep getting pregnant. My body is already an expert at it. The last two went so easy, that I didn't need medication for them. If I were to give you any piece of advice it would be this, prepare mentally for what may come, esp. pain. I'm telling you girl, it helps a great deal!

Yeah I have a pretty high pain tolerance. So I'm not wanting to go the drug route if I can avoid it. I am psyching myself out and preparing for the absolute worst! I figure if I prepare for the worst than when I get to it....it will seem easy or so I hope! LOL! My mom thinks I'm nuts. But I know I definitely don't want anything before the epidural if I do get the epidural. We'll see though!

Girl, you can do it. I'm telling you it's a beautiful thing feeling everything. People think I'm crazy too. I do have to say, I had a spinal block w/ the first and if just seemed like postpartum was worse than the last two. I felt so good w/ the last two, as good as you can get after birthing, when I didn't have anything! If you need any advice, message me. You can do it.
