re: miscarriage but still feeling movement

posted 7th Sep '11
I agree with the other posters, I don't even think the baby moves at 8 weeks. Is it even a baby yet? Isn't it still a embryo? I could be wrong but I thought it was later that it became a fetus/ baby. Have you seen what a 8 week old baby looks like? I hope that you didn't have a MC and that it was just a mistake.

They wouldn't have been able to tell you the gender, either.

YES!!! it is a baby it has a heartbeat brfore then and it does move....involuntarily, but it moves, however it would be pretty hard to feel since it's soo tiny... Maybe to a sensitive person could feel it as early a 12 weeks, idk but 8 I find hard to believe...

They start moving between 7 and 9 weeks. So the baby could have been moving for a week, or wouldn't have started for another week. The baby is the size of a kidney bean at 8 weeks and surrounded by fluid, so I don't think she was feeling the baby. It's possible she may still be pregnant, and she should demand her ultrasound and bloodwork results, but I don't know why they'd tell her that for no reason

She said she started feeling movement at 8 wks and supposedly m/c at 12 - they should know the gender at 12.

I don't know about the other stuff OP, but you have every right to your medical info and records - just ask. They can't deny you that.

Best of luck.

At 12 weeks, there is less than a 50% chance of an accurate guess as to what the gender is.
