not a problem. You'll need her immunization record too. and since your mixed feeding you get stuff for you and for her.

Idon't think I'm going to beable to keep up with pumping at work for very much longer. My fear is that if I begin supplementing with formula that my LO will refuse the breastmilk. Has anyone else had issues with this?

Just saying hi   We started supplementing with some formula a couple weeks ago. Just a little every now and then as well as mixed with her cereal when she eats it.

Allie is 5 months old andeats approximately 5oz every 3 hours. I pump every 3 hours at work but I only get 3-4oz each time. I usually can make up for it with my last pump of the night/first pump of the morning so it's not too bad. We still nurse on the weekends and on occasion during the week. I introduced her toGood Start Supremebecause it's what they supply at her daycare (in case of emergency I'd like her to be introduced to it) an also to mix in with her cereal becuase I don't want to risk wasting my BM if she doesn't eat it.

I think it really depends on how much you are supplementing. We did this with my son, and it was A LOT. I was working about 30-40hours a week. eventually he just didnt want to nurse anymore. He did at night for a while, but eventually my milk dried up. So I was worried about that with my daughter. So for now since I cant pump at work, when Im there,we giver her half formula, half breast milk.but eventually, Im not going to have any in the freezer. I am scared to death of her refusing me, but so far, so good! and its been a few weeks

I want to exclusively breasfeedand I have an Ameda brandmanual breast pumpbutit doesn't pump out enough to evencomplete one feeding and I don't have the money right now to buy one of those good brandexpensive electrical breast pumps. For those reasons I plan on using formula for outings or if she is baby sitted later on. Will mix feeding her this way harm her in any way since I'm not going to be doing it routinely only when we have somewhere to go and I can't feed her from my boob? Will her stomach be able to adjust to it properly?

she should be just fine   i would try giving her a little and see how she does with it, i have a few bfing moms that say their kiddos will not take formula...and remember, pumping takes practice also! when my daughter was smaller, the only way i would get more than an oz of milk is to pump and nurse at the same time (unless yours nurses from both sides in one feeding, my daughter didnt)

Thanks! I appreciate it! She doesn't have to nurse from both sides but I still have her do it so I wont get any clogged milk ducts or anything like that.

Quoting Hannahs Mommy:“ I'm really interested in the which bottles you guys are using question. My baby will be here soon and ... [snip!] ... used with all of us and was her suggestion, so I'm hoping they work out, but if they don't, which ones work well for you all?”
I've tried several. At first, my son had a difficult time going from breast to bottle and vice versa. We started with Dr. Brown's simply because it is really good for nixing gas issues (which it really is awesome) but the slowest flow nipple still was easy to eat from and my son became lazy. He didn't want the breast b/c he had to suck harder and actually work for the milk. So we tried the "Aldiri" bottles and they were super expensive ($13 per bottle!) and didn't work at all. Then we switched to what has been working for us- the cheap-o playtex drop-ins with the slow flow nipple. The nipple mimics the breast and has really helped my son feed from both breast and bottle. Hope that helps!

we tried that expensive one too and she hated it. we also ended up using the playtex drop ins

I'm so excited to find this thread! I have had many issues with BF and have seen the LC's many times and my milk is almost gone. So I have to supplement with formula. It's been very dissapointing and depressing. I feel like here is a place I can relate.
