I took 2 3x's a day. Really ramped up production, and poopy, lol. So be careful I think its a natural laxitive.

It didn't have any ill effects, I wouldn't worry!

Yeah, the funny thing is, I HATE beer--It was like torture to down it. I kept thinking--why couldn't it be a daquiri a day??

Good luck!

lol. 'a daquiri a day keeps your milk in play' ... We could always Trrryyy...   lol.
Well I've been taking fenugreek for a couple days now, and everytime he eats I pump after, and give him a bottle of formula also. Kid can't get enough of it! lol. I noticed yesterday that each time I fed him, the amount of formula left in the bottle when he was done was getting more and more... So I must be getting more milk. This morning (if you can call 5:00am morning.. I see it as sleeping time, Corbin sees it otherwise... lol) I pumped because he had woken up but by the time I got back from the washroom he had fallen asleep with his daddy again, and got a lot more then usual. Then he woke up as soon as I was done(figures..lol) and I let him get as much breastmilk from me as possible, then gave him a bottle. He was content enough to play in his swing for a bit then fall back to sleep.

I think I'm going to be a mix feeder. I tried bfing and...it ain't working so well. There is a problem with the latching. I got a little help from a doctor, it worked great, didn't hurt at all...then I went home and think I'm doing it the same, but nope...still painful. And I think from not bfing a day, that my milk supply went down?? is that possible? So my baby seems to not get full off the breastmilk, so a couple times a day, if i'm too discouraged or if she's not satisfied i give her some formula.
This thread is great. Knowing that there are other women with the same problems eases my mind and makes me feel less guilty. and I wonder why we even feel guilty at all? as long as our babies are eating and healthy..
and someone told me something great...something along the lines of yeah, breastfeeding is great, but some women can't do it...a sane mom is a good mom.

Yeah, you should not feel guilty. Formula isn't BAD for babies, it's just that breastmilk is BEST.
some people seem to think that since breastmilk is the best for babies, then formula must be like injecting poison. hey!
I think a lot of the guilt though, is because breastfeeding and motherhood always kind of go hand in hand.. And everyone (everyone as in just the general public..) thinks breastfeeding comes totally naturally. Well it doesn't. Who's to say your boobs are going to work right? That you're going to learn how to do it? That your baby is going to know how? Or WANT TO?
So many things !!! Ah!! lol

I am so glad to find this thread!!! Took awhile to read all 12 pages though! LOL

A little background on me and my feeding adventures! My first son was a 31 weeker (Cat, congrats on pumping as long as you did... when you have a preemie, every bit of breastmilk they can get is sooooo good for them!) and I had to pump exclusively for the first 4 weeks bc at first the suckling reflex wasn't developed at the gestational age, (around 34 weeks is when that develops) and then he would burn more calories than he consumed trying to nurse. My milk supply was AWESOME and my freezer was full! Then I went on the mini pill and it all dried up so quickly! We used the frozen breast milk and formula until the suppy was gone and he was just formula. My second child, I had to go back to work when she was 2 weeks old, so my supply never got fully up. So we had to supplement. When she was 3 months old I went on a job assignment that exposed me to hazardous stuff so we had to stop nursing.

Now to baby 3... She was SUPPOSED to be my perfect breastfeeding baby! I was going to have at least 6 weeks at home and my supply was going to be awesome. Well, when she was born her mouth was too little to get a good latch. But for the first day didn't realize that. We ended up using a nipple shield for the first week... And she broke thru her first tooth at 5 days old. My body produces enough milk now, but she is messy nurser and half of my milk ends up drenching us, so she doesn't get full afterwards. I pump a couple of times a day, as well as at night. I nurse her and then formula feed right before she goes to bed and then her middle of the night feeding is also formula, and then I pump. If we are out in public and she has finished her BM bottle, I will give her formula.

One wasn't too bad (all though she would sometimes drag it across my nipple, and at her age you can't do the same things you would do to a 4-5 mo old to make her understand) but the worse part is she has one on top trying to come through and she actually BRUISED my nipple!

I want to continue nursing her as long as I can, but the last couple of days half the time I am nusring, I almost cry bc of her biting. I will continue though, I just have to keep telling myself I am strong!

I can't believe she has a tooth that early! Madison is almost 6 months, no teeth yet, but she is teething like crazy. Thats my biggest problem.. she's a biter. The WIC people told me that she understands what no means at this point and to start telling her no when she does it! If its this painful now, I cant even imagine how its going to feel when an actual tooth comes in. My friend BF exclusively for 18 months & she said she was fine.

She wouldn't flick him hard! LOL! Just enough for him know it wasn't a stroking his cheek sorta thing! I have heard that worked well for other ladies too! I dunno, never got that far with my other two and Taylor is too young (5 weeks) to understand that!

Hi ladies,
is anyone on Reglan or domperidone? I want to see if there is much difference between those two. I have been on Reglan for 2 weeks, but heard that domperidone has fewer side effects. Need to hear your experience, especially about the increase in supply.
Thanks
