re: **Official '08 November Mama's**

Hey ladies! I had my appointment today. When I first got there the PA gave me some scary/bad news. To the point I began bawling. I guess my PAP came back abnormal. It always has so that was not new news. But they never explained it before. I guess it is something called Ascus. I also came back with a positive HPV, that was never before. I was kind of scared because I guess the Ascus could lead to Cancer, but so can HPV. I am a bit confused and scared. I am so glad my fiance was there for me because when I left I couldn't stop crying. I know it is not complete bad news, but every woman in my family has had some sort of GYN Cancer.   I have to go for pap smears every 6 months now. The next one will be at 24 weeks pregnancy and the following one will be 6 weeks post partum. I also have to have a Colposcopy at 20 weeks. I hope I am not part of the statistics. (Sorry for venting)

On a more positive note. I finally was able to hear the babies heart beat. It was a strong 157 bpm.   Again I cried, this time happily.

Yes, there's a lot of high school drama going on elsewhere. Definitely unnecessary. I stick to the November Mama's that I know and love. no need to go anywhere else!

On Mother's day, my husband cooked me breakfast and I got sweet cards and art projects from my stepson. We went over to my parent's house for lunch and then to my mother in laws' for dinner. Busy day, but lots of fun. It was really nice to feel like I was a part of mother's day this year instead of just partially getting to celebrate it by being a stepmom. I mean, I know I've been a mom for awhile now, since I"ve been taking care of my stepson but there's just something different about it this year, knowing that I have a sweet little baby in my belly!

Crmsm , this might sound kind of crazy but my fiance actually bought me the same exact card. haha.

I went to one of those expensive maternity boutiques today to find a special occasion dress for a wedding next month and it made me feel frustrated. i tried on over 10 dresses with an average price range of 200$ and none of them fit right. i am petite but my boobs grew two cup sizes already. when the dress would fit, the bust would be too tight and when the bust fit my belly wasnt big enough to fill out the dress. i am just in that awkward in between belly stage i guess or my boobs are just too big for the dresses that actually fit me   i didnt even bother to look at the regular clothes because i dont want to spend 100$ on a tank top. i dont mind dishing out the money to feel like a princess in a beautiful dress though. What i did buy there was a belly band , i heard so much about them i finally got one. i guess they are good for the early stages when your regular pants stop fitting they actually hold them up for you while they are unbuttoned. i will let you know how it works out. i also purchased a product for stretch marks by a brand called Boob Tube by mama mio. apparently Dr. 90210 tells his patients to buy it after he gives them boob jobs. it was a little expensive but i think my boobs are worth it. i also got two shirts for 8$ a peice at Old Navy, you cant beat that! Talk to you soon ladies! stay healthy.

Thanks! Maybe it's cuz I am a bit older than most people on here...it just bugs me to no end some of the silly "drama" that goes on!

That's OK...I like everyone on our thread and I love keeping in touch will all of you!

Hi everyone this is my first pregnancy, I am due Nov 18th so I am now 13 weeks... and I just was curious if anyone has started to show yet? I thought by now I would have some kind of baby bump... but not yet I guess it will come soon enough! I just went for my 2nd appt and heard the heart beat... the doctor said I was having a girl because it had a fast heart rate... I have a really hard time believing this theory, possibly because I really want a boy... Well I look forward to chatting with you all.

Hi everyone, this is my first viable pregnancy, I am 38 and am due Nov. 12th. I just spent the entire morning reading half of your posts - they're so informative and amusing ! I'm 14 weeks today, am showing, have had at least 6 u/s beacause of a threathened miscarriage at 9 weeks (partial detachement of the sac) am on bedrest and working from home. My next appt. is on May 22nd and I have an amnio scheduled on May 28th but I'm beginning to think that I'll chicken out and not make it to the amnio appt

Just wondering: am I the OLDEST mom-to-be on this thread? I was born in the US and half of my family on the US side including my mom lives in CT but I've been living in Italy all of my adult life and in Italy first child after the age of 35 for our generation is basically the norm (which is why the amnio is such common practice in Europe) Good luck to all and congrats on who's been feeling the baby already, I can't wait for that to happen now that the cramps are almot all gone !

I can't believe you didn't tell anyone for that long. I couldn't wait. I told my mother the sameday I found out because of my situation I didn't want her to think I was keeping something from her.

I had displaysya before and had it biopsied. It was the scariest thing ever. From what I read about ASCUS is that it is comon for lots of ppl so here is wishing you a normal one the next times around. I know you will have a heathy baby!

man o man ladies.
I have been so sick. woke up vomiting and couldn't stand up. Not to mention it was my husbands second day of work so he couldn't stay home. I forget how bad it is to get sick while prego. Your body is already weaker taking care of the baby and then to fight an infection.
Much better today. I can walk. And ate a piece of toast. But o the diahrreah (sp)
can't wait to be back to normal.

RELIEF!! I went to the doctor this morning for a routine exam and the glucose test and everything is fine. He couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler so we had to have a quick u/s to make sure everything looked good and it was! My little "peanut" has changed sooo much in the last 4 weeks; it looks like a little person now and was moving around a lot! Needless to say it was such a relief to know everything is ok, I have been so worried something would be wrong.

On a side note, it is sad all of the "drama" you read in some of the posts here. But I am the same, I only come to the Nov. Mama's page. You all are great and really helpful! Have a great day all!!!

I hope you feel better Tazar. I never had morning sickness where you actually threw up all the time. Anyways I just want to vent right now. So I have an appointment on Thursday which most of you have heard several times already. By the way I 'm not trying to make this about me at all, but last night my mother in law who I love very much sent us a TEXT message about how the doctors found a large lump in her rt breast and she would talk about it tomorrow. My husband went from excited about all of our stuff to now worried and sad. I have personal experience with breast cancer and I haven't known anyone who has found a lump and then have it be normal orokay.
I'm trying to be very supportive, but It's hard not to think the worst. My mother has had it twice and eventually had both breasts removed. My mother has had many years of kemo and radiation, it was horrible. I also carry the breast cancer gene. I'm just upset that she sent us a text message and then told us she wouldn't talk about it until the next day. I would rather she tells us when she can talk about it instead of worrying us andnot giving us further information or she should have waited until she has more info in case she still doesn't know anything. Anyways I love my DH very much and I will support 100%, it's just hard when you go to bed and the man you love is crying and there is nothing I can do but hold him close. I hope we can get more information today and understand the seriousness of the situtaion. Thanks for listening.

Mommy to Curly B- Your MIL is in my thoughts and prayers and if it gives you any hope, I have a very dear friend that recently found a lump in her breast. I went with her to get it biopsied and everything came back normal; no cancer!!! You said you had never heard of it before and I just recently experienced it. Anything is possible!

Tazar- I am so sorry you are sick hunn! I hope you feel better soon!

I finally get tgo to my 2nd appt tomorrow, I feel like my appt are so far apart, it feels like ages! Ok, so everyone has been talking about weird dreams, but has anybody done anything weird in their sleep?? last night my husband and I went to bed with clothes on and this morning I woke up butt naked! I asked my hsuband, "what did you do to me??" He was like I didnt do anything, I don't know where your clothes are. Sure enough they were on the floor on the end of the bed, but I definitely don't remember taking them off and I don't know why I would have taken them off! LOL My husband just laughed at me!
